WOW!! Just
WOW!!
What can you say about a place like the Antrim Coast? You've likely seen it among some of the "Top 10" most breathtakingly beautiful lists that are published from time to time. But I can tell you the photos you'll see from us -- and even from professional photographers -- cannot capture one-onemillionth of the splendor of experiencing these sites in-person!
I (Ryan) have seen many amazingly beautiful places (Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, Acadia National Park, etc.), but none have come close to the sights I saw today. Kelly said next to (1) the day she put on Christ in baptism, and (2) the day she married me, this has EASILY been the third best day of her life...and she even said it was giving #2 a run for its money!
All kidding aside, I agree with her completely. It's just hard to believe all this is contained in just a few miles of coastline.
Among the sight we saw today were:
1) The Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge
2) The Giant's Causeway
3) Dunluce Castle
4) The 4th Earl of Bristol & Bishop of Londonderry, Frederick Hervey's mansion ruins & estate
We're not
YIKES!!The roads along the scenic causeway were barely wide enough for a single vehicle!
even going to attempt to convey everything we saw, learned, and experienced. The photos will give you a meager glimpse into the wonders of Norhtern Ireland's Antrim Coast. Do be sure to view the
brief two videos we've attached to this post. One is hilarious, and the other death-defying.
Now...lest you think we are just slacking over here and merely vacationing, today (Friday) was used as a leisure day since we have a full day's work ahead of us tomorrow. Look for an update on that work tomorrow evening.
We love your messages!! Keep 'em coming (especially the public posts).
Slane (farewell),

Hi Uncle and Aunt Kelly,
That was pretty neat - I think Piggley might have been there before. Grandma said that she thinks you guys were too close to the edge. I went swimming tonight in the hotel pool - it was fun. I can't wait for more pictures.
Love, Kate and Doodle
Hey, Kate & "Wissie",
Yeah...the whole time we were teetering on the edge of Salmon Island's cliffs, we were remarking how your grandma would have had about 17 separate heart attacks. It sure was exciting & a grand experience, though.
Love,
Uncle
Dapper is the sort of word that one can use in Minnesota and get away with it ;) Thanks so much for including us on the email about your blog!!
