The Start of Another Adventure

Our intention was to have left at the beginning of April on a two month trip with the van to Greece. Unfortunately while we were away skiing in January Wendy fell over a snowy kerb while crossing a road carrying her skis and broke her leg. Thankfully the break is now healed and we are leaving tomorrow for a seven week tour around Germany.

We have chosen Germany because we have driven through the country several times on our way to somewhere else and always said we should find an opportunity to visit properly. This seemed as good a time as any.

We plan to start by working our way down the Rhine, go south to Lake Constance and come back on the east side of the country, visiting Berlin and the Baltic coast on route. However it could well be that time will not allow all this. What we definitely have in mind for the first week is to visit Aachen and Cologne and then move on to the Bonn area where there is a big firework festival, The Rhine In Flames, next weekend.
