June 22nd: Rain is still coming down, clearly I've caused it by showing up... I AM the rainbringer!

Got my first laundry of the trip done (one of the more inconvenient parts of travelling, laundry) well really Emma just took it off me and did it, bless her. I'm looking forward to getting into Leeds (Emma's place is in Castleford) to have lunch with my good friend Bev, and her son George (who didn't even exist the last time I was here... time is a funny thing), and then on to drinks with the court folk.

The rain has continued all day, which sucks but luckily Emma leant me a rain jacket (I decided not to bring one seeing as it would be 'summer'). Met up wtih Bev & George at the train station. Had a good catch up wtih Bev and got on pretty well with George, though he's still at that stage where he hasn't yet learnt that it's not polite to slap people in the face!
After that I killed a lot of time by wandering around Leeds... quite a few places/shops have closed down, I guess that's the state of the economy. I also stopped in at the library (hmm dry) and had a bit of a flick through "Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" the few pages that I read were very promising and I think I'll have to give the books a read at some point (I have seen the film).

With various people unavailable or just generally piking, the drinks at 5 ended up beingattended by me, Emma, Fiona and Sasha (quality rather than quantity)when I got back to Castleford I briefly considered going into Lamp Lighters where I could here the gloriously enthusiastic off key sound of karaoke happening, but decided that it was better to see if I couldfind the way back to Emma's house withOUT the extra couple of beers under my skin.
