During September we made some trips locally to Hull, Haworth and East Riddlesden Hall. I have been to Hull and Haworth before but it was nice to visit East Riddlesden Hall, a National Trust Property, for the first time.
Hull My Dad and I made a trip to Hull one afternoon to visit The Museums Quarter and check out the maritime heritage that Hull is renowned for. On our arrival, we made our way to Hull's Old Time and to the Museums Quarter and visited the Streetlife Museum of Transport. At the museum we look around the exhibitions that celebrates 200 years of transport history including a short film; climbing on a bus, tram and signal box; walking down a 1940s high street; and finally rode in a stimulated carriage. I noticed the Green Cross Code poster which reminded me of my school days and instruction on road safely! For lunch, my Dad and I had lunch at a lovely cafe just opposite the Museum Quarter and afterwards we had a wander along the old docks where we saw the Corsair, Hull’s last sidewinder trawler, and look around the docks. Despite some regeneration work being done its still derilict
in places but I notcied some organisations have secured sales of some buildings so it may be a different story in the future. At one point of its history, it was the main dock for most of the ships that arrived to Hull from faraway places. Dad wanted to look at the swing bridge before we wandered into city, which is an impressive feat of engineering although not used as much now than in the past. Whilst wandering in the city, we had a look at the Wilberforce Monument in the Queens Gardens and looked out for the old maritime and historical buildings.
Haworth I spent an afternoon in Haworth. After having to change buses in Keighley it was nice wandering around the village and looking around the shops and also met Billy, the Apocathy shop's cat. I had a look around the church and cemetery where the Brontes worshipped during their time in Haworth. I did not go in The Parsonage, the Brontes family home, because I visited it a few times on previous trips and the queues on this occasion to get in would have put me off anyway. I was thinking of going on the

Keighey and Worth's Valley Railway for my return journey to Keighley but the price of the ticket was not worth the ride and I can get a free ride back on the bus (thanks to my annual bus pass) instead. Instead, I did some train spotting and saw the Keighley train arrive at Haworth before getting my bus back.
East Riddlesden Hall One afternoon, I took a bus to Riddlesden Hall, near Keighley. Being a National Trust Member, I got in free of charge, and spent some time looking around the manor house. The manor house used to be owned by John Murgatory during the 17th Century where the house merged from three previous properties. I also explored the informal and formal gardens and saw the ducks relaxing on the pond at the front the house. I thoroughly enjoyed having a hot chocolate in the exquisite tea room with its wooden beams and panels! I look forward to having afternoon tea there again soon!
