Honestly, what have we let ourselves in for. July 15th seemed a long way away. That's because back when everyone signed up, it was. Now, it's imminent. Money raised, vaccinations suffered, kit (partly) purchased. Trepidation abounds. What's the food going to be like? Are we going to ride on the roof of the train from Chennai? Can I manage 3 weeks without Made in Chelsea and The Only Way is Essex? Are my nails going to break? Am I really only supposed to pack 2 t-shirts and 4 pairs of underwear? One thing's for sure, it's going to be an adventure.... read more

Tis the night before we fly out and we are as ready as we'll ever be. We realised in time that we're flying from Heathrow rather than Gatwick so we're probably going to save my parents a lot of effort and get the tube to the airport (it's only a short drive from my parents' house to Wimbledon). More soon! John x... read more

Hi there family and friends We had a great time in Alconbury staying with Lesley and Denis and had a great lunch with Aunty Evelyn, Reg , John, Pierce and Denis. Thanks Evelyn. It's always special catching up with family. We lunched the day before at the Ferryboat in where they have been serving beer since the about 500AD's. There is a grave from 1100 odd when a lady committed suicide and so couldn't be buried in consicrated ground - she is in the middle of the pub instead. The winter morning walks are bracing but the scenery was so English and green-good for the soul. Our day in Cambridge was also interesting. The colleges are so grand and steeped in history. I'd recommend Denis and Lesley's hotel any time. We are back in London having ... read more

Well the time has come for us to finally leave blighty for a trip which has taken 10 years to plan and some (including us) believed would never happen! Andy can leave with his head held high having won the innagural Williams Centre Parcs Challenge - proving that he is indeed the greatest living sporting Williams (maybe apart from Serena and Venus) Sarah and her family took their family gathering at a slightly more sedate pace and lacked any competition at all. Although still put themselves through a six mile walk (can't believe there wasn't at least a certifcate for the winner) and then a Japanese endurance task whilst trying to get served lunch in a not so pleasant country pub afterwards. All fingers of blame are still pointing at those who attempted to order a ... read more

So there are only 3 days to go until I leave! Desperately trying to decrease what I am packing! I don't know if anyone has noticed but I'm not exactly low maintenance! I just want to say Thank You to everyone who came to my leaving do's (although Friday was Kims too!), it was nice to say goodbye to people before I left! I have included some of the best photos although some of them are also on facebook too! So the next time I write I will not be in the British winter (not that it isn't delightful!) so talk to you all soon! Luc x x... read more
