We are feeling so much better!
England is the perfect place to come after the chaos of Varanasi and Delhi...the last few days in India were really exhausting and stressful, with a train delay of over 6 hours as the topper on our last day.....the fliht was the longest we've had so far, about 9 hours but really comfortable. British Airways was like luxury after flying Air Asia so often lately.
For the first few days now we've just been relaxing in a nice little suberb of London, strolling around, eating western food, we hit the gym a couple times, went to the local pub on saturday ro watch ireland win an historic rugby match, then saw Watchmen finally yesterday.
Today we got up with Chris (Alicen's cosin) and his wife Lavina at 6 to go to the gym. now we have all day to really stat planning the beginnning of european leg and start b ooking trains, hostels, etc.
I've also recently realized that I may have made a bit of a mistake by choosing this blog sight. The pictre upload tool pretty much sucks; it takes about 20 minutes to post their maximum of 21 pictures at a time; whereas facebook I can post 60 pictures at a time and it takes about half the time....so rightnow my priority is to get my facebook pictures 100% caught up before adding any more here...so, get on my facebook page if you're interested in seeing more pictures! i've got most of our cambodia pictures up there now and am hoping i can get everything caught u through India today.
tomorrrow and the next day we'll be sightseeing in London, then we're heading up to Scotland for 4 or 5 days where we plan to rent a car and drive through the highlands and all that. then on april 1st we're meeting our friends jen and Matt and their two boys in Dublin and driving through Ireland with them for the next week or so....then off to the continent!
Cool!
Big thanks to Chris and Lavina (and their roommates actually) for makin us feel extremely welcome and comfortable here. It's great to see family for the first time on the trip!

Thank goodness I joined Facebook! How cool that Jen and Matt are joining you! Are you going to see Perth, Scotland? The Presbyterian Church there has your Great-Great Grandfather's name on a stained glass window. He was the minister of that church, for many years, and your Great Grandma Smith grew up there in the manse (parsonage). His last name is Symon (Grandpa Smith's and Danita's son's middle name. I think his first name was John. I'll get back to you on that, if I have time. I have a picture of that stained glass window. It's really beautiful! Happy travels! Love, Mom
