The churchyard where my mum , my gran and grandad and numerous other relations are buried . The church was built in 1851 to serve the growing population of Gwersyllt . It is built of a dark stone in the Early Decorative style. It is a conventional shape of nave, chancel and spire with yew trees in the graveyard . I remember those well from visits as a child. Our weekly visit consisted of putting flowers on all the graves and my gran telling me who was buried in the churchyard. My granddad in a corner , my great ... read more

17 September 2019, Tuesday Day 16 on Thames Path, Windsor to Chertsey, day 31 of travel. England. Day 16 on Thames Path It is a beautiful day as we leave Windsor. The flowers in town are putting on their final show in a burst of pride. We have grand views of the castle, that is providing the distant backdrop, from across the Home Park, an open area that faces the castle Today the highlights will be found in the meadows of Runnymeade. We find the two Lutyens gatehouses, one containing the Magna Carta Tea Room, and find Norma and Jo, having had their drinks, ready to take off. We take a break and then head down the meadows. Just over 800 years ago weak King John set his seal on the Magna Carta, "Great Charter." This ... read more

How could anyone go on a ride that pulled you up 90 degrees into the air?! Not for me, i sat out, the first of many times! The first thing i did was go on was Depth Charge, then onto Flying Fish and back to Depth Charge again. Of course all the water rides were done, Storm Surge, Rumba Rapids, Tidal Wave and Loggers Leap - twice! And then of course, my first KFC!... read more

Indeed, there were a few things that needed doing before D & A could truly hit the road. In no particular order: - MOT: Motor vehicles in the UK are required to undergo an inspection at least once a year call the MOT test (short for Ministry of Transport D suspects). The motorhome was due for one or so D thought. It was actually overdue for one. - D & A wanted to visit A's nephew Haley who is attending graduate school in London. - D wanted to purchase a new GPS device or Sat Nav as they are called in the UK. The Garmin device they brought from home the previous year had on occasion taken them into some bottle necks in which the street, buildings and bridges formed the bottle neck and their motorhome ... read more

They headed south from Heathrow to Chertsey, Surrey where they were able to load up on groceries and begin getting the motorhome in order. ... read more
