THURSDAY 14 OCTOBER - Part 10

Alarm set for 0700 hours. A good nights sleep, breakfast continental style, coffee, bread and cereals as much as you wanted.

4°C, ice on the windscreen!!!

Mileage 32105 - 255 miles yesterday - 2713 miles overall

Set off 0810. On motorway within 5 miles heading for Reims.

Peage at Reims €2.40

Petrol 100 kms from Calais. €63.18.

Peage at Calais €20.20.

As always just as you reach the end, a diversion pops up to send you off in a different direction and not well signposted, but we found the Car Ferries.

The next P&O Ferry was 1245 hours, Seafrance 1255 hours, so we chose P&O €107.50. Ticket issued at 11.21 hours for the Pride of Burgundy.

We wound our way through the docks to lane 124 and parked up. Took off the deflectors and visited the loo, and vending machines for coffee €2.40

The ferry was a little late but we got on board with no problem. Went looking for a nice restaurant which we didn’t find, so used the cafeteria, Fish & Chips, Pie & Chips, two diet cokes. £19.26.

Arrived in Dover and went through the docks, customs and immigration, which was no big deal.

We had decided on the M20 and headed off rapidly in that direction.

Dartford tunnel toll £1.50.

On the M25 there were road works around the A12 turn off and I missed the exit so we headed down the M11 and A120, then A12.

Stopped at Tesco’s, Copdock, Ipswich.

Our total mileage, from Pegeia, Cyprus to Ipswich, England 3056 miles, which took us eight days.

Over the next several days we managed to sell the car. Meet up with a few family and friends and flew back to Cyprus on Tuesday 19 October.

Back to the sunshine and another adventure under our belt.
