So far training has not been as intense as previously planned. Out of all trips I have done so far only a couple of them have not involved going to a pub (the local which is about 300 meters away). Despite this I feel that my general fitness is improving and most importantly I feel that I am getting used to the bike. I cycled to the top of the 'Wrekin' (a steep hill near Telford) from my front door in an hour which was the biggest test so far and nearly died in the process. Bill tells me that he cycles to and from work each day as well go on morning runs. More training is definitely needed!!!
