Who doubled as the Shakespeare prof
so yesterday, my shakespeare class technically lasted for 11 hours. We went to class at 1:15 and didn't get back from doing Shakespeare things till 12:15 am!!! yeah, crazy, I know. But Paricles was the best Shakespeare play I have ever scene. Maybe it was cuz I stood up right against the stage so there were actors flying over me as acrobats, people getting in fights right in front of me, actors going out on a platform right behind me. I have been so spoiled by this experience. Nothing will be done right now that I have seen this production of Pericles in the Globe Theater. I think the coolest thing of the show which I will document here was the ship wreck when Pericles is the only one to survive. They had a ship that consisted of two wooden planks, someone holding a sail, and everyone in the boat holding onto the ropes like they were the lines on the ship, but when they got swept over board, they would swing and wing back as the water and the wind pushing the "ship" to and fro. Three of the acrobats actually got their ropes wound around each other so that they

were twirling around in a circle around each other. I can't even begin to imagine how much rehearsal went into all the rope stuff. when the ship started to sink, the planks floated away by being carried off and all of the acrobats climbed their ropes and wound themselves in them so that they, in slow motion, wrythed (sp?) in their places way up under the roof of the stage and slowly let themselves down so it really looked they were drowning and when they got to the stage, they were at the bottom of the ocean. It was spectacular. Wow. Also one of my favorite parts was when all of the Olympians ran in in their white warm up suits and their white flowing flags. Pericles with his fisherman posse run in and Pericles is wearing a leather pilot's jacket with overall yellow foul weather gear pants over them with a pole that had a piece of a net flying off the top as his flag. Everyone then proceeds to do their acrobatic act one-upping each other and they're incredible. they give their gifts too and one of them gives her a cactus. When it's pericles's turn, he doesn't have a gift or an act, so he gives her a wilting pine tree branch and looks around for an idea for an act. gets down on one knee and sings to her in Hungarian. It was so sweet. I almost cried.

Anywho, so that was great. got home, slept, woke up, went to classes, same old same old. Frisbee today. It was me and 10 guys, as usual. I was so kick ass. I was tarin' that feild apart!! I was picked 4th for teams (this may have been becuase when it got back to Clay's team the for the 4th pick, he told the guy I've been making out with to choose, so of course he chose me *shrug* gotta get something out of a hookup :-P) We won the first game, they won the second game, but not by much. Took a lot of pictures that'll go up on webshots as soon as I get home. Man I played so well today and they were all laughing at my aquired taste sense of humor. that's always a good thing. A prof from Birmingham Southern is taking all the BS kids out to dinner tonight, but after that they're gonna call me to go out. Should be fun. I think I should get Amanda Jane to come with me. Yeah, that's what I'll do.
