Jesus is the Lord !Jesus is the lord of my Life and I rebuke all the works of the enemy...England shall be saved!
"They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."REV. 12, 11
In April 1999 I was baptised in the Holy Spirit. God spoke to me and said:" GO TAKE THE GOSPEL TO THE WORLD! "
How did I know it was God? Simply in this way: my spiritual inner man was opened up by the inpouring of a complete and divine Love like no other. After this infilling of Love I was taught another spiritual language to communicate with the godhead. Ive studied most religions and this experiece that occurred to me in Mossel Bay was different to any other I had experienced in my life. It was the impartation of spiritual knowledge and the ability to connect with the source of ALL Love.
The journey that began on that day was to lead me to sell all my possessions and to fly to England. We " officially arrived in England ( my wife, myself and my son jeremias around September 1999).
"He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts

... [more]of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."mal 4, 6.
This was the WORD that brought me to this country...( and many others) - we have given our lifeblood , we have poured out our life in the pouring rain, in the driving snow, we have sweated blood, we have cried tears in the sun, in hunger and in thirst..., we have died, we have loved, and we have been spat on... but GOD is good...ALL the time... and HE keeps me in the palm of His hand for HIS Names sake.
"yes, fellow britons as Lord Nelson once said: FEAR GOD , FEAR SIN AND AFTER THAT FEAR NO MAN!... "
so what happened to that spirit - has it gone? or was it all spin?
I was born in this land... a child of the land... my children have been born here... and we have shared our love, we have not held back...we have fought the good fight of faith...
and what happened..? how were we thanked for it?
we were imprisoned, we were chained....we were arrested, we were bullied, falsely accused, persecuted... hit ... slandered... broken... stricken down ... our enemies came from our own household... and HINDERED the work of the Lord because their minds were set on this world and not on the things of the kingdom of God.
but in all of this ... we did not despair... for the JOY of the Lord is our strength... but a TSUNAMI of Great PROPORTIONS IS COMING UPON THIS LAND, ENGLAND... we are really in the last days... people... the time is really at hand...!
there are christians who are christians in name only... and there are believers who believe in God... !
which one shall you be ? child of this earth? of this nation? which one? the comfortable christian club is going to be closed soon and very soon.
In my story I have been unorthodox in my methods... perhaps even maverick... but my love for the gospel and the knowledge of the healing power of Jesus and the power to overcome all obstacles in lifes journey... this is why I do what I do... because I want to share what has been placed in my heart... and for NO other motive or reason. God is my judge and He will vindicate as well as avenge those who seek my life.amen and amen. I am persecuted but I am ALIVE... and God will do it by His Spirit.
PART ONE : OXFORD. 1999-2000
We spent 6 months in Oxford. During this time we were homeless, in and out of temporary accomodation and struggling to survive. But God was faithful . He never let us down and we were even able to bless others in a very short time. I was involved with the Christian Life Centre in Cowley and another ministry called St. Francis House. It was tough because the social services did not want to help us. We persisted and eventually we were put in temporary accomadation. I started working in a warehouse and even helped my wifes sister get a job.
We ministered to the community both through the chruch and to the homeless. We managed to highlight the homeless problem by delivering a giant Christmas Card to the Mayor Mrs. Smith. It was signed by businesses, priests, and community leaders. My heart however was for international missions and for Israel. In around 2000 we went to Israel for awhile.
PART TWO: HOLCOT & DAVENTRY 2000-2002
If we thought Israel and Oxford had been tough... Daventry was literally hell on earth. This is where we came into contact with the problematic social culture of working class britain. For me it was an experience that I would never forget and I could write a thesis on the many things I learned. Mostly I believe it was my naivety that saved me from the devils that wanted to destroy me and of course the angels that encamped around us.
It was a time of immense testing. My second and third children were born in this time. In Holcot - not far from Moulton where William Carey , the famous missionary lived; it was a brief period of respite from the storms we had already gone through.
In Daventry I was mostly associated with the Jesus Fellowship and Elim Church in Northampton. We were also supported by a Nigerian fellowship in Northampton. many saw us as lone rangers or loose cannons but I believed that God had called us as ONE church and there should be NO divisions or separations between denominations and believers.
I got involved in church activities as well as explored my own ministry. I started writing a regular update of progress , I kept a diary and composed many songs and psalms.
But on the ground... it was incredibly difficult. The Jesus army is regarded by many as a sect and people in general are very hostile towards it. We lived on one of the roughest estates in Britain it turned out. Many people were suffering from mental illness or disability, many people had been released from prison, most of the kids on our street had no father... and drugs were rife -heroine the most popular and hashish...- as well as drunken yobbism and vandalism and violence on many levels.
My goal was to try to proclaim the gospel in any way that I could - whether that was to ravers ,travellers, druggies, criminals or kids.
I found that the kids were the most responsive as they hadnt been polluted too much from the world and there was still a chance that the word of God could take root. But we were stopped at every avenue. They refused to rent out the community hall to us- even when we offered references, deposits etc.
In this regard I had the support of my wife and I always made sure I got permission from each of the parents for any activity. Whether that was a day outing to Gullivers world , or Sunday school. However, there were many who felt challenged and they did not like what we were doing. That dislike soon turned into maliciousness and outright hate.
We had many attacks on our property after that. Eggs were thrown at our windows... the same eggs that we gave away for free... my car was constantly being scratched and vandalised( never mind about my bus or caravan)... but I was determined not to drink from the same well and I wanted to do what Jesus would do...
In our own home it was not easy. My wife started stressing out and the stress especially after she was attacked and nearly raped by a mentally deficient person - that was the last straw1
I decided then to pray to God for a release from this persecution. Finally , God allowed us to move on and we did. Here are some thoughts of Daventry - they will follow soon after. ( see the end of the page)
PART THREE: FINSBURY PARK 2002.
On our return from Rumania ; we were once again financially broken- and our road was back again to temporary accomodation. This time it was Finsbury park. It was here that my wife started showing increasing signs of being erratic. Breaking plates, hitting the children , demonically manifesting etc. I m not saying I was a saint. We were both under stress. We prayed and asked God what to do next. We decided to go to South Africa for a break. It was a year and a half before we again returned to England. This short time was an intersting one in finsbury park. We prophetically styed at 41b wilberforce rd. We fellowshipped and the Triumphant church international. They were another one of the many Nigerian churches in London. I had a vision of heaven here and I saw a flaming sword ministry. During this time I marched for peace in the middle eats , as well as dressed up as a monk and flew the isralei flag to protest against the war in iraq. I met brian haw who i must say; that whilst i admire his tenacity... he broke his word with me and did not fly the Israeli flag I gave him after the march. I was cursed at , spat at , sworn at ..and in fact interviewed on tv by the Israeli tv... During this time I preached in the House of parliament at a luncheon with Lady Sainsbury... and Cindy Jacobs. I said that we would never surrender this land to the forces of satan. I proclaimed the Word of theLord by saying; this land , the soul of its people are bleeding... and it is only when the sovereignty of God is restored ... that it would be healed. It was a short and intense time.
PART FOUR: WEMBLEY & EAST GRINSTEAD 2004-2008
On our arrival in the UK ; we now had 3 kids and 7 pounds to our name. It was again a challenge to work ourselves up again. Most people would have given up but I am made of stronger stuff. In one week I had saved up enough money from doing gardening work to buy a car. We spent 6 months in a horrible hotel in one room. It was hard and I sent my wife to Poland for three months to get protect the kids from any negative influences of the people and atmosphere in that hotel ( there were again prostitututes, druggies and ex-cons living there residentially).
With no help from the governemnet I managed to get a loan from my bank and with it I decided to rent a 10 bedroomed house in Wembley. We spent one year in that house. We sent our kids to school. I published a kids book called the Dancing Flower, I organised a gathering in Yorkshire for around 5000 people; we travelled... it was a good time. My business prospered; I was thankful to God. It was not without persecution and we rocked a few boats.I recognised that Wembley was a spiritual battleground for the UK and a lot of the spiritual warfare that was going on became my battle.
The next year we moved to 14 The glen. The gardening business continued-SHALOM GARDENS- this was another ministry to the elderly... its funny really the young and the old want to hear about God ... but in between it becomes more difficult.; our kids went to a local school - but not all was right. My wife by this time was having lapses and I soon realised she was not mentally coping with life. We started homeschooling our children and this added more pressures... soon our budget was not covering our increasing fincial burdens... and the atmosphere that was once peaceful became more stressful. iT HAPPENS TO US ALL... VALLEYS AND HILLS... WE WENT INTO A VALLEY... its how you cope with it that makes a difference... sometimes however, it becomes too much..
- it seemed we were treading water than progressing. In times like this it is easy to blame each other... and this was the worse thing to do.
My mission to England I felt was reaching its end and we prepared to return to South Africa to again take up full-time mission work with YWAM( Youth with a mission). At this time we were fellowshipping with various ministries like The redeemed church of God, joyful ministries and the fathers house. I could see that the constant intercession was working and in two years 4 new churches have been planted in the area.
London is more anonymous than a market town like daventry; and I found that our ministry which had once been to kids mostly was now to travellers and the elderly working in london. Little did I know then... but God had other plans... as john lennon once said: LIFE is what happens to you when youre making other plans...
but its all good... it makes us real... it makes us beautiful ... colorful... interesting... human... frail... and this is our strength as believers... our weakness.
.......................................................................................
So thats the basic history of our mission to england... but lets get back to the core issues : what is happening to a country that once used to send out missionaries all over the world? Why are missionaries coming here? Why is there such spiritual poverty in England?
A lot of it has to do with material comforts; apathy , secular humanism , paganism and a general resistance to any kind of religion. This is the world we live in... a world that wants to introduce animal DNA into human DNA... a world that wants the freedom of homosexuals to adopt children and other issues...
but what is the main problem?
its this: FEAR. People trust in their possesions and not in God as they once did - only 60-70 years ago...
now the society has decieved itself and this delusion has permeated into all quarters of life - including the christian church. its the age of rationalism, control and fear...
but there is something inside ... so strong... its the human spirit... and it shall prevail ... the way of the master - this is the way that says: LOVE!...
but if the master were here today... ministering the gospel to the world according to Gordon Brown and tony blair... would they crucify him? would they say.... heh... you must have a hidden reason for doing soemthing good...
and yet England has such a good traditon of giving... it IS a generous nation... but is this simply saying: we know better? we know whats best? Is this why Chritians are pilloried , persecuted for bringing the word of God to this country?
“Would Jesus be called a paedophile ?!- " In todays English ghettoes like the one I lived in for two years... YES. Is this an indictment of the state of spiritual health of Great Britain....YES. What would they think of Mother Theresa, Brother Roger, Mohatma Gandi... the Buddha... ALL of whom placed SPECIAL attention on instructing children.. YES, had they lived on in england as a missionary...
YES. they would have been slandered by a " paedophobic society"- to the point of being arrested!!!- surprised... NO... - it is the cost of inheriting the cross of Calvary. If youre NOT being persecuted in some way... your ministry is lame...its " gay"-Why would anyone want to do something from the abundance of his or her heart - for free? there must be an ulterior motive...if they arnt getting paid... then they must be child molesters or religious fanatics who want to brainwash us... THIS is why TRUE spirituality cannot come into a place of darkness if people reject it.. So if any teacher of righteousness were to come as the ancient cathars or the perfect ones... or the christians follwers of the way... or the siddhis or saddus... unless they put on a Harry Potter magic show... they would be classified either as freaks or weirdos... Had no one known them ... YES... they would ... why? simply this: FEAR. No one likes change... especially when it comes wrapped up in the form of the religion.- any religion... modern western society thinks it has ALL the answers... but it still cant solve the simplest of them... How to Love one another... How to be NORMAL... How to be Human... How to give freely... without cost...so what would jesus have done had he lived in daventry on a very rough estate...?
(When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. )"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.mark 10,14
And what did the master tell us how to respond to this great fear and darkness?
Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.'If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also john 15,20
But 2 years of ministering the love of Jesus made NO impact. Not only was I never thanked by the community... ( not that I had asked for an earthly reward)- I was even reviled - hated... to this day! tHIS IS MY ONLY THANKS...
It matters not that my wife and I :
1. fed the hungry, clothed the naked ( thats right - we put shoes on the feet of chidlren on the estate, we fed them- their mothers too lazy or drugged up to do it- why because they spent all the childrens money on drugs... did we judge? no . We asked for nothing in return.
2. My property was constantly vandalised ; hence I decided that the only way to stop it was to forgive and continue to use the opportunity to minsietr the word of God to the community we lived in. In some cases this worked. We NEVER retaliated! A drug dealer stopped dealing drugs... and became involved in the community. My bus was burned - a bus I had originally intended to take across Europe; once I could see that it would be irrepairable; I allowed it to be used by the local kids on our street to start up their own club.
3. Educated the kids on bushcraft and home economics and good eating. We used to have chickens and would give the children fresh eggs to see the difference between tesco and free range.
4. We would invite the kids to our church on sunday and would also do our sunday school with our own kids. Despite all the slurs, all the slander, all the vandilising... we continued to love.
5. When a friend of mine was murdered by own of the estate thugs ; I went on record as saying: Forgive!
In the end it was too much. The stress in our house was too much to take - and after my wife was attacked ; I prayed and asked God to release me from this job. In His Grace- he did.We left for Rumania where we worked with Gypsy children on a feeding programme and recorded a CD.
6 years after all of this- How am I repaid for my charity? bY INGRATITUDE, MORE SCURRILOUS SLANDER AND MORE LIES!... But Jesus warned us all about that.He said this:
"On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. mat 10,17
So if Im getting persecuted on account of the gospel of God... then I must be doing something right... certainly the worst thing that can happen to anyone is to be ignored...but what was the end result of two years of giving without asking....Thanklessness, hatred, poison.
And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
They did not like the light. In fact I nearly was killed in a car accident(" faulty" brakes). Some time later I was told a witches coven was praying against us to destroy our marriage ,familyand even our very lives.... Gods word is clear... do not throw your pearls before swine...! I did. I learned the hard way.He says when this happens... move on...I did .
Then on top of it( just recently)... I write a song saying: I welcome persecutions...I welcome accusations... I welcome your scorns...cause Satan ... you are done...! - And guess what? I' m persecuted 100 fold more...!Praise the Lord.
a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'Mat 10,36. WHEN - not IF you are stricken down by the enemy... it will usually come from within your own house... and in my case... it did.. praise God!... but what did I expect... ???-a pat on the back...( No, God heard my cries to go deeper, get more serious in my relationship with Him... -) This will only come once your race is done:"well done my good and faithful servant...!!!God says : this WILL happen... !and when the tsunami hits you... you better be prepared with the Word of God...you better have your FAITH and TRUST in God...
But I thank God... why..? because Im obviously doing something right- in all of this...! Praise JESUS!
So Here is a brief history of some of the events that took place on that English estate -
South brook , Daventry, Northamptonshire , England.
In the year 2000 I was praying on the steps of the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem. My wife was 7 months pregnant with our daughter Anastasia. It was just before the Intifada ( the palestinan uprising)kicked off and I was asking God for a place to give birth to our second child in safety and security. Little did I know it then ; but our brief time of safety was to end once I started mentioning the word : JESUS.
During those prayers in Israel ;I believed I heard God directing me to Daventry, the home of the JESUS FELLOWSHIP.
We were at that time full time Independent Christian missionaries living on faith. We were not supported by any organisation or church ; only the prayers of others like us.We had been trained or discipled in various missions in Kwazulu Natal , South Africa. ( Kwasizabantu, Jivanadi)-But we were basically on fire for God and we wanted to save the world…
In my faith we believe that it is Gods will to take His gospel to the four corners of the world and a privilege . In obedience to that calling I sold all my possessions including my cars and my shops and flew to Europe. In fact I was inspired to do so by two Hare Krishna monks. I thought if they can do it for their God… I can do it for mine.
In the last 20 years African Missions to Europe have increased exponentially and some of the largest new churches have been founded by Africans. One in Ukraine for example has over 20000 members.
In London alone over 40% of all church goers are black.
Nothing however, would prepare me for the hell I was about to experience at the hands of the by-products of the socialist system of modern Britain. The TV programme about life on an English estate called : SHAMELESS… about sums it up.
But this did not deter me in my determination to spread the Love of God and minister the Word of God to an unbelieving, suspicious crowd of paedo phobes, drug dealers, heroine addicts, criminals, and degenerates. Jesus came for the sinners I thought ; and the only way as Brother Roger of Taize told me once is to make an impact on peoples lives is to get alongside them- understand their pain, try to earn their trust and not to judge them but continuously forgive them when you are hurt. This would be like Jesus in the flesh. This would be light and this light would shine in the darkness.
For two years we tried to bring the gospel to that tiny fragment of England’s diseased society… To a degree we were successful. But we were also hated intensely.
The darkness could not comprehend the light and instead began to hate it. After two years of this INTENSE persecution I prayed to my God again and asked Him to release me from this burden. He did and we were sent to Rumania.
Being a follower of Christ is never easy; but by this time our two daughters were born and we had made an impact on this tiny fragment of England. I believe the good that we sowed will one day bear fruit . It matters not that people will accuse, persecute or slander. What matters is that the seeds that were sown into the hearts that we ministered to- mostly the kids - as the adults were not very enthusiastic at all about Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It was an eye opening experience into the state of English society and I learned a lot from it. I sincerely hope that the good will overcome the bad .
I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last first."
England is a sick , dying and perverted society that hates Marriage ,Family and God. It will soon fall into a GREAT judgement if it does not repent of its ways -SOON AND VERY SOON!. Thus says the Lord. amen.
On Christ the rock I stand... all else is sinking sand... all else is sinking sand! we shall overcome!
HERE ARE SOME ARTICLES FROM THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER;

Paul Denton: call for a debate
« Previous « PreviousNext » Next »
View GalleryA CHRISTIAN missionary has called for a public forum to debate major issues which affect life in Daventry.
Paul Denton, 38, who lives on Hood Road in Southbrook, Daventry, has asked town mayor Cllr Nigel Carr to chair the forum this month.
And he wants residents to put forward items for discussion.
Mr Denton said: "People are fed up with life, the system, the environment. It's easy to criticise but not easy to be constructive.
"However there are some things that need to change. Things which affect not just Southbrook but the entire community of Daventry.
"We need to get the glue back to the community.
"The glue of caring for
others and sharing your burden with others. It is not up to one man to do all things."
Mr Denton has interpreted events in the town during the past year as part of a need for change.
He said: "Examples of
negativity and a rising anger are that my bus got burned last year, garages have been
vandalised and 'hell' was
written on a garage door.
"The dog club no longer comes to the brook and there was a three day rave on Borough Hill because
travellers wanted to wake up the town."
But Mr Denton has hope there is an answer.
He said: "Let us continue to foster the community spirit that will bring this town alive again. To make it a place of hope for all."
Cllr Carr said: "I just think the forum is a way of bringing the community together and air views. It is hard to say really what the issues are until we have the meeting.
"The forum is not a five minute wonder.
"It will take years to solve some issues."

NEIGHBOURS TURN ON PLAY BUS PHILOSOPHER
RESIDENTS of the Southbrook estate in Daventry have reacted angrily to a man s justification for parking an old bus in Hood Road and letting local children vandalise it.
And he is to be landed with a hefty bill for the clean-up operation that was needed after it was set on fire.As reported in last week s Daventry Express (April 26), born again Christian Paul Denton claimed there was a lack of tolerance on the Southbrook estate. He said he had bought the bus and parked it near his home in Hood Road to be a haven for youngsters. But residents are furious that Mr Denton took his philosophy to the extreme. They say that he stood back and did nothing as the bus had its windows smashed and the insides ripped out by children during the Easter holidays. The bus, together with surrounding pavements, fences, other cars and the footpath, were then covered in paint. And in the early hours of last Monday, arsonists set it on fire. One resident asked: Is this the act of a responsible Christian who cares for the well-being of the children and his local community? Another resident added: We appreciate what he was trying to do but he should have got involved with an established organisation, for example, the community centre. Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association owns the land on which the bus was parked.Regional director Mike O Sullivan confirmed that the association had asked Daventry District Council to remove the burnt out bus from Hood Road. This was done on Friday at a cost of approximately £100 plus VAT.Mr O Sullivan said: We are getting quotes for having the paint and the debris removed. We will be asking for the money to be reimbursed by Mr Denton. I believe he should be asked to pay. Daventry Police confirmed they had received reports of arson and vandalism which are being investigated.Mr Denton said: I did not plan this, it just happened and I tried to stop the kids vandalising the bus. Having to pay for the damage after getting your property destroyed is an insult. Whoever said I should pay for it is very selfish. They are not interested in helping the community, just the fact their rent may go up.

FRESH THINKING AT TOWN FORUM
CONTROVERSIAL ideas on graffiti, alcohol and travellers emerged at a forum about Daventry.
Christian missionary, Paul Denton, 38, of Hood Road, Daventry, organised the meeting in the Saxon Suite at Daventry Leisure Centre last Tuesday evening.
About 25 people turned up and were joined by community leaders including MP Tim Boswell, Insp Dave Thacker from Daventry Police, town mayor Cllr Nigel Carr, Daventry District Council's chief executive Steve Atkinson, David Granger, editor of the Daventry Express and some district councillors.
Mr Boswell, who had
travelled from London, said: "It is easy to say the police and politicians should do something. If we are going to listen to you, you have to talk to us."
Colin Poole, of Borough Hill, Daventry, said: "I wanted to know how Paul Denton could be so judgmental without any experience of Daventry town.
"Daventry is moving on very positively."
Several members of the public suggested supplying schools with painting equipment and asking pupils to paint underpasses which are covered in graffiti.
And Cllr Carr said: "There should be an anti-drinking law on the streets including adults walking from pub to pub drinking."
Insp Thacker who worked in the county drug squad for three years, said: "Daventry is not a hot spot but that is not to say there is no heroin or amphetamine.
"The drug which causes most damage is booze. Changing from cannabis to heroin is like changing from bitter to lager.
"The police will never eliminate substance misuse. We spend a lot of effort dealing with the by product of it, drug related crime."

DREAM GOES UP IN SMOKE
ARSONISTS put lives at risk and shattered a born again Christian s dreams of turning a dilapidated bus into a haven for young people.
ARSONISTS put lives at risk and shattered a born again Christian s dreams of turning a dilapidated bus into a haven for young people.Paul Denton discovered children on the Southbrook estate were enthralled by his 1970 Bedford coach after he bought it on a whim for £400.He parked it near his home in Hood Road, Daventry, and for two weeks children on their Easter holiday swarmed around it. He let them play and climb on it, paint it and they set up their own club in it.But at 4am on Monday, Kim Benson, who lives in the house next to where the bus is parked, woke up terrified with the stench of thick smoke billowing about. She and her six-year-old son got out unharmed but she cannot forgive the arsonists. I thought the house was on fire, she said. The shock and panic was terrible. I don t know who in their right mind could do such a thing. It was so close to my house and everyone around here knows I ve got children. She did not blame Mr Denton for the fire, which damaged her fence and melted her guttering, but said his plans for the bus had got out of hand. The self-styled missionary comes from South Africa and moved to Daventry in January with his wife Ewelina and their two young children. He explained they were in Israel when he had a vision in which God told him to move to Daventry, which he had visited once before for a few days. I was praying and God said to move here, said the 37-year-old who has set up his own landscaping business. I had been dreaming about a bus so when I saw an advert for one, I bought it. My wife thought I was crazy but the kids just loved it straight away and asked to play on it so I said yes. He had hoped to use the bus to get the community involved in providing more facilities for the children. I have mixed feelings about the fire but I forgive whoever did it, he said. The Southbrook needs a lot of love. There is something wrong here a lack of tolerance. What was wrong if the kids were enjoying themselves and having fun? Why are the parents around here not interested in doing things for their own kids? The kids are running around wild. The bus was a good way of reaching out to the kids. I used to live in Johannesburg, the crime capital of the world, but even there they would not do that to someone else s property. I hope this makes people think. I know it was an eyesore but I want people to open their eyes a bit. The children on the Southbrook have a real need and if I have awakened that then I have achieved something. A few days before the blaze, the Gusher spoke to some of the children about their new plaything. One 12-year-old girl said: We d be bored without the bus. There wouldn t be anywhere to hang around. Another girl, aged 13, agreed, saying: If it wasn t there we would probably go swimming or hang around in the park. All the kids came to see the bus. A ten-year-old boy added: It s fun to play in. A fire service spokesman said: We believe the cause was deliberate ignition. Any fire puts people at risk and in this case it spread to the fence next to the house. It did endanger lives in the area.
