So its 27 weeks and 4 days until the new adventure begins! Flying to New Zealand via Singapore. I have been to Singapore the last time I travelled and I felt really comfortable and enjoyed it so it seemed the perfect place to stop over on my way to Auckland. Keep your eyes open for more updates soon!... read more

Our motorhome wheels are rolling again, it was lovely to get into our warm, cosy van and start on the UK speed tour! Woolly says – it was great to get in and find my friends, Spot and Hodge waiting for me, I had so much to tell them but they fell asleep! Our home on wheels (still nameless!), is an Autotrail Cheyenne, 6 berth (we know this is big for two adults and a mammoth but we wanted to extra space so that we can relax in comfort. It has a separate bathroom and a full cooker (very useful if we ever get round to using it all), there is also a large rear garage for our bikes, stores and the other three million things I need to carry round with me, it’s also quite ... read more

With the whole of South East Asia to choose from, we’re spoilt with places we could explore. But we have managed to narrow it down to these amazing countries. Here is goes; Land in Bangkok then off to Cambodia Vietnam Laos Northern Thailand Southern Thailand Western Malaysia Eastern Malaysia Philippines Indonesia And finally we’re off to see the future ‘in laws’ in New Zealand, which I’ve heard is a fairly good country ? Anyway thats the plan….. For a more visual way of seeing where we are going please look at the map page. Follow us on our website and Facebook page :) Website Blog Facebook Page... read more

Here it is, the end of another working week and we've just arrived home from dinner at the local pub. We are currently in Holcombe Brook which is just near Ramsbottom and part of Bury Council. It's also where Terry was born and lived for his first five years, although he spent the next ten years about 3 miles down the road in Bury. The way that I think of this area is that Manchester is the equivalent of Melbourne, Bury is a bit like Frankston and Ramsbottom/Holcombe Brook is sort of like Mornington and Mount Martha. We quite like it here and so we are using it as an opportunity for Terry to get over his cold. We are also waiting for a package of tickets to arrive but so far no luck - hopefully ... read more

Are we there yet? Eventually we were - we arrived at our accommodation 35 hours after leaving Mum's place. Our trip was broken by a 3 hour stopover in Singapore and 1 hour in Munich but unfortunately we had to stay on the plane in Munich - so much for our plans to buy some duty free in Munich. We'd booked our accommodation in Manchester through an online website called AirBnB and we were to stay with a couple in their apartment close to the centre of the city. We'd been in contact with them a couple of times leading up to our stay and so we were able to let ourselves into their apartment when we arrived. A brief sleep later and we were on our way to the University of Manchester. This wasn't a ... read more

Hello everyone! I was really happy to see that I am getting a lot of views on these posts. Firstly because I love to share what I'm doing with the people I care about, but Secondly, because I was feeling somewhat silly not writing to anyone in particular. So I hope you're enjoying them, I'll try to keep it lively. Today is my 18th birthday and as expected, I don't feel quite as different as one expects to feel. But I suppose I wouldn't just wake up magically feeling like a grown woman. Anyways, I had a lot of trouble falling asleep last night (or early this morning, I should say). That is probably due to the fact that I had slept until 1 p.m. the previous day; recovering from jetlag. But as to not get ... read more

Well, I have officially begun my travels and quite successfully thus far! Yesterday Dad and I had an easy drive down to Chicago and after battling the confusing parking directions, check-in, and a bittersweet goodbye, I made it to my gate. Quickly after sitting down, I noticed a rather large group of boys (and company) wearing matching t-shirts labeled "San Antonio Lions' Futball Club". While watching the chaos, I became content with traveling solo and simply. Little did I know, I would end up smack in the middle of this pack for the next 8 hour plane ride. At first I was extremely intimidated to be surrounded by 12 young men and their various parents, all yelling across to one another and throwing things. But as the flight went on, I really started to enjoy their ... read more

Once up we all went to the village of Garstang for a walk, to go window shopping and then for a bacon bun. After an hour the rain started so we drove to the Barton Grange Garden Centre, we spent time walking round the huge displays of flowers, garden furniture and gift shop then we took a seat in the restaurant. Standing looking at all the cakes and cookies it was hard for all of us to decide which to choose, so we made our final choices and took them to our table to enjoy. Shane then needed a pee so off he heads to the toilet to discover the most unique urinals, they are porcelain flowers of all different shapes and colours, almost too beautiful to pee on.
