It used to be an annual tradition that my best friend and i would spend at least one day in Blackpool each Summer. This year we decided to restart the tradition!
We stayed in the Draytonian Hotel. It's one of the cheapest b&bs in Blackpool. Whilst the hotel rooms aren't huge and the bathroom is shared, the warm welcome from the hosts more than makes up for it! We'd requested veggie breakfasts and upon arrivals, they made sure each of the ingrediants were to our liking.
As we'd arrived quite late, we decided to go for food before hitting the prom. We decided to eat at The mayflower, a Chinese restaurant opposite North pier. From the interior design, you would expect a £50 a head meal from any other town, whereas in Blackpool, it wasn't even that for two meals including alcohol and a Baileys Coffee (definitely recommended!)
Afterwards we went for a wander down the prom. The thing about Blackpool is it has something for all tastes. During he day you can find lots of families enjoying the rides and the arcades, as well as elderly couples strolling along the prom. At night, the place becomes alive with groups of hen and stag nights. Despite this, it is one place i've always felt safe and never threatened in the slightest.
The following day it was on to the Pleasure Beach. Unlike a lit of theme parks, there's no entry fee, so if you're there to hold the bags, you don't have to pay for the honour! For £30 you can get an unlimited wrist band that allows you to go on all rides as many times as you want. You can also find cheaper deals on the pleasure beach website. The newest ride is Infusion, a bit similar to Nemesis at Alton Towers, although I think this ride lasts longer.
