Hadrian’s Wall
All though is snow lots again last night we decided to brave the snow again today and go to Hadrian’s Wall. Hadrian ’s Wall was built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 122AD, it Stretches for 80 Miles from Newcastle to Bowness- on-Solway near Carlisle, and was the northern frontier of the empire for almost 300 years. It was superseded in Norman times by dozens of castles and fortified houses some of which remain largely intact. We went to see one of the forts that where still very intact it was closed due to winter but still worth the drive in the snow. The roads around the wall where covered in snow and we skidded along the road almost into another as we came to one intersection but we took it easy.
