Day 4: Wednesday (07/05/08) - The day when things started to get really fun.
So morning was exactly the same as Monday/Tuesday. I got up at around half past seven, took a shower blablabla… you get the picture. The fun part starts at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon in Canterbury. After that there was of course the fun and entertaining barn dance ^^.
Photo 1: The ruins of an old tower. So this is our guide showing us the ruins of an old bastion (or tower if you prefer). What was interesting was that on the outside part, there were white crosses painted on them. Those crosses represented the burning’s and lynching’s of people who were against the Church at that time. Each cross represents a time that happened. To my horror I counted over 4 crosses on just 1 side of the wall….
Photo 2: A random monument =) I’ll confess, I have absolutely no idea what this monument is. I took a picture of it out of pure spite of having to run around it aimlessly.
Photo 3: Zizzi bar! =D This is the bar that bears the nickname of 1 of
our friends from our group! We just had to take a picture of it even if it was just for comical value ^^. We got a good long laugh out of that for quite a while.
Photo 4: The West(end?) Gate Ok, this is the West Gate. Before it served as a west entrance to the village of Canterbury.
Now it serves as a museum. I really like the shape of it, and there was a question about it in the quiz.
Photo 5: At the Barn Dance After a long day of sightseeing in Canterbury we were really wasted already. Then we had to go to some dance. When I got there and saw the 1st dance I thought it was the stupidest most irritating thing I have ever seen in my life. But after seeing 3 dances I mustered the courage to dance. After the dance my option about the dance changed drastically. It was really fun, amusing and entertaining. Overall I danced 3 times ;] including the Belgium versus Germany one! (Yay go Belgium we won with 98.7% xDDD)
If I might add: The barn dance finished very early as opposed

to the other activities.
At half past 9 we were free and left to our own amusements. I think when I say that being over 18, being in England and not going to the famous English pubs would have been blasphemy! So we rounded up our group and went to a pub. We had a great time there and English beer (well, actually Scottish) was really tasty! (from a glass not a can or bottle!) We went home at around 11 P.M. ending the day in a very pleasant and satisfying way. (^.^) V
Photo 4: The West(end?) GateHere we have the West Gate. It's a museum now, but used to be the west entrance to the village of Canterbury in medieval times.
