Day 2, Monday the 5th of May 2008 - School week begins!
Normally school started at 9 o’clock but I got up at 7:30 to take a shower etc etc.
Before leaving for school Alberto, Thomas and I ate breakfast - toast, coffee, and orange juice. I think we were all really excited to see how this would turn out. We left for school a quarter to 9 after asking Ms. Smith where to go. She said the Kent school of English was really close, and she was right. There were a lot of people in front of the school waiting to get in like us. After looking at the list of classes we went to our separate classrooms, where we took our skill level test. At noon we had a break and went to explore the city for the first time! At 2 P.M. we went out to town to do a survey (our group had chosen music). In the afternoon we went to a place called “Fusion Nite Club” for a karaoke night.
Photo 1: Our School So here we are! That’s the place where we studied and took our tests for the reminder of the
week. What’s there more to say? It was small and cramped. That week I learned to appreciate our Belgian school and our big courtyard!
Photo2: The Class This is our class that we took the level test in. (By the end of the day they divided us AGAIN into different groups, this time by age…) I was quite disappointed at the news =(
Photo 3: The Amusement Park I loved the amusement park! Do you know why? Well, I’ll tell you anyway. Because there were trash bins all over the place, literally at every corner. While in town I usually had to carry my trash with me and here, I could just walk 5 meters and find a trash bin!
Photo 4: The Beach Our school was very close to the beach. All in all it was a good place to sit and drink/eat what you bought before in the stores around town. You could also admire some beautiful women on their towels over the day as Monday was a Holiday there ;)
Photo 5: At the Fusion Nite Club (Yes, it was spelled Nite not Night, it’s not a spelling error on
my part)
Here we have Marcin and Marek sitting in a corner with the rest of us, trying to hide ourselves from the little man running around harassing people, trying to make them sing. As you probably figured out by now, we weren’t took keen on singing that day ^^.
