This is the 'see-through' walls look I want to ride my bicycle; I want to ride my bike...
In case I haven't mentioned it to you yet...I'm going to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats!!! That's more than 1000 miles!!! Oh dear I have no idea what I'm letting myself in for so please support/encourage/sponsor me and help me make it to the end. No laughing at my suffering unless you donate to the Bulungula Incubator first!
Thanks, fxx

"When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought for anything but the ride you are taking"

Wow, a whole year in Britain and nearly that long in my old job again...it was only a matter of time before I got itchy feet

And this is the 'no walls' look! and decided to mix things up a bit!
So, with a new job in London starting in September, I have decided to take August off and set myself a little challenge...to
cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats! Crazy, quite possibly, especially as I stop breathing after half an hour at a spinning class! But that's not going to put me off. Instead I'm hoping you lovely people will spur me on with messages of support, taunts, blackmail and most importantly, cash incentives. Yes, that's right,
I'm after your hard earned money as sponsorship! When I was in South Africa I stayed at Bulungula Lodge on the Wild Coast. It is a truely amazing place, not just for the stunning views, great hospitality and eco credentials, but because the community are actively benefitting from the tourism the lodge generates. The lodge is part owned by the local villagers and many are either directly employed at the lodge or given assistance to set up their own businesses. Dave, the guy who created this dream place, has also set up a dedicated non-profit organisation called the Bulungula Incubator, see their website for more information:
Bulungula Incubator The biggest project they are currently working on is to build a new school for the local village, Nqileni. (See a couple of pictures of the state of the previous school buildings to understand just how desperate this is!!) All contributions will be very gratefully received and you can even donate on line for extra convenience:

Quick note to say you have to donate in SA Rand, the current conversion rate is approx. 15 ZAR to 1 GBP. Use the XE website for an accurate conversion if you need it:

I'll be putting up maps of my route and details of the journey and my progress as it happens, until then look up Bulungula and thanks in advance for your generosity and support. Fxx
