I have had such a busy week that I haven't had time to write a blog, but here goes nothing. I hope this post will bring you all up to speed on what I have been up to. :) Also, I am exhausted, so I am sorry if some of the following is a little incoherent.
This past weekend was the best yet (it was only the second, but still!)! It started off with a trip to the London Eye, which was a 30 minute ferris wheel ride where you could see most of London. Of course it rained, so most of my pictures did not turn out that well, but it was still nice to see everything at night.
Below is my favourite picture I took whilst on the London the Eye. It is not great quality, but you can see how well-lit Big Ben is.
On Friday, I went to the Warner Brothers - The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour, which was pretty great, if I do say so myself. I even bought myself a chocolate frog and a Platform 9 3/4 t-shirt. It was too expensive for what it was, but hey, I'm in London! I had better make the most of it, right?
After the tour, a friend of mine from home (shout out to Claire!) came to visit me and stayed in my closet-sized room with my roommate and I for a couple nights. When I finally found her at the crowed station, we both ran toward each other at the pure relief of, well, finding each other! After that, a group of us went for a proper British afternoon tea. It was so great that I may start drinking tea on a regular basis now. They served it with little sandwiches, scones, and desserts. All I have to say is that my expectations for afternoon tea were definitely met. I can't wait to get afternoon tea again!
We went to Stonehenge and Bath on Saturday, and I found them both to be quite fascinating. The mysteries behind them both were intriguing, and I listened to almost all of my audio-guide for both places (which I think is an accomplishment).
On Sunday, Claire and I took a trip of our own to Notting Hill, London Bridge, and M&M World UK, where they have every color M&M you could ever imagine.
Just for a couple work-related updates since I am
technically here for work... I have been very busy helping the accountant with all sorts of receipt filing and excel spreadsheets (which I love) and we've been talking and getting to know each other, too. :) I have also been updating the company's work portfolio and writing biographies, Facebook posts, and Tweets for the Dancers of the Week. This morning, I got to work before some of my co-workers and even stayed after them at the end of the day. I feel like I am really becoming a valued part of the company, and it hasn't even been 3 weeks!
Until next time,
Stav
