This is the beginning of my round the world trip. All this time planning, organising, dealing with so many feelings and doubts, thinking there is still lots of time. Right now I am thinking, ‘This is amazing, I’m travelling around the world, I’m doing it!’, and I know a second later I will be thinking, ‘Oh no, oh no, oh no, I’m not going to see you for a year.' But once the idea gets into your mind you have to do it.

Suddenly you realise that the time is here and all you need to do now is pack your staff and go. But first is first and you need to do something that is not easy when you are planning to disappear for one year, say goodbye to everyone who gives meaning to your live.

This is just to thank everybody who has been helping me choosing destinations and places to visit, to people offering me contacts around the world, to everyone who has been there at any time, to those really good friends taking care of me through this last month, for the surprise farewell parties, to my family, to Ri and Ro for sorting out all the technical equipment, to Juankr for being always with me and never stop smiling and, of course, to grandma for being as she is.


ESPAÑOL

Este es el comienzo de mi viaje alrededor del mundo. Todo este tiempo planeando y organizando cosas, luchando contra el centenar de sentimientos y dudas que te abordan en cada segundo, pensando que todavía te sobra un montón de tiempo.

Ahora mismo estoy pensando ‘Increible, me voy de viaje alrededor del mundo, voy a hacerlo, voy a hacerlo’ y sólo un segundo después sé que pensaré ‘Oh no, no os voy a ver durante un año. ¿Y si me estoy equivocando?’ Pero una vez que la idea está en tu mente tienes que hacerlo.

De pronto te das cuenta de que lo único que te falta es hacer la mochila y partir. Pero primero tienes que hacer algo que no es fácil cuando planeas desaparecer durante todo un año, despedirte de toda esa gente que da un significado a tu vida.

Esto es para dar las gracias a todos los que me habéis apoyado y ayudado eligiendo los destinos, rutas, y lugares para visitar, a todos los que me habéis facilitado contactos de amigos por los diferentes continentes que iré pisando, a todos los que siempre habéis estado ahí, a los que me habéis acogido y cuidado durante este último mes, a los organizadores y asistentes de las fiestas de despedida, a mi familia, a Ri y a Ro por ocuparse del equipo técnico, a Juankr por estar siempre conmigo y por no dejar de sonreir y por supuesto a la abuela, por ser como es.
