So, another day another job for Cat in London. I now have a position at a company which helps UK citizens migrate to Australia and New Zealand. So basically I'm still a phone bitch, but now I get paid a whole lot more and have connections with travel companies in europe..... its a very good place to be. Plus I dont have to take the tube anymore, I can get a bus instead, which is cheaper and quicker. Hurrah. It's a good life. I think I'll keep this job, it sounds good and there are some definate perks (like weekends away in europe...). No more job hunting for me. Except I have an interview at an optometrist which I'm in two minds about attending.
The new job was perfect timing - the lens company annouced this week that they were no longer doing accounts to Ireland. Speaking to Irish people was one of the highlights of my day and they just took it off me without even asking. Damn Jai Kudo. Though I still got to speak to Barry who I swear is in love with me. He used to call about 5 times a day. The boys constantly told me that he was probably about 55, but I dont care. We had something special.
In other news, I live close to a Mental Institution containing some of the most dangerously sick mentally ill people in London. When I was staying at Grim's house we were near a class A prision. In melb, we lived near a juvenile detention centre.... does anyone see a pattern emerging here?? However, just to put my mother's mind at ease - I also live very close to a hospital.
In the most excitingest exciting news (well besides the fact that packs of hot cross buns are 2 for £1 at Sainsburys) the new Augie March album is available for pre order at Sanity! HURRAH! (The down point of that is that they wont ship it overseas, but I'm working a way around that!) I shall have it in all its digi pak glory.
And now a random fact for the day - the kangaroo and emu are on the australian coat of arms for a reason - they can both only go forward.
CAT (I'm more excited than big Kev)

Speaking of Augie March, they are cohosting triple j this morning. Do you want us to get a copy of the album and send it over to you?
My dear Cat,
Loving the journal, I check it regularly for updates and random facts and Catsky-type topics. Your penmanship always brings a smile to my face. You guys sound like you are having a blast. I wish you all the best for the rest of your trip. Make sure you drink a cask over there for me. I'm back to uni and preparing for my 2 months of research on a tropical island. How sweet life is.
Missing you and your electron-hating philosophies,
Meg.
