LONDONS CALLING This morning we took the tube into London (around 20 mins) to see if I could get an All Black World Cup jersey at Harrods – hadn’t had any luck elsewhere. True to form Harrods came through 67 Pounds for the official World Cup All Black Jersey which was pretty reasonable I think. We also had a very nice ‘Deli Lunch’ at the Harrods Cafe. Their food area is pretty amazing in terms of the options available. The weather was awful with heavy rain and strong winds (reminded us of home!) hopefully it will clear before the big game tonight WEMBLEY At 5pm the weather was still not great so we caught the 83 bus just down the road from our hotel. Yes, it is more than a month now since we are back home. Difficult to believe it but time flies by. I don’t know what we were expecting but when coming home we felt like we had been on a long week end trip. The house was still there, everything in place, it is a bit like when you change your clothes, you just put them on and you are ready to go again with the flow! Still the first week or so we were asking ourselves where next? Oh we just stay here... Robson managed to visit most of his friends in a few weeks. FA Cup Final Match The best and coolest things I have done so far on this trip. I can't begin to put into words how outstanding this was. First off…. just walking up to Wembley Stadium was awe-inspiring. But.... nothing could prepare for me what awaited further on. Tens of thousands of football fans singing and cheering on their teams and this was not even inside the stadium yet. I have some amazing videos I will try to post. Now, my seat. OMG. Hey, just to share a bit of nerves with you all. I cannot stop rearranging the luggage and removing things. I will end up with nothing I guess. Ben has done his bag once and that was it. I am still trying to share the weight of the guidebooks though. Our essentials are Imodium and hand gel, and chocolate. Anyway, since the end of March we have been saying goodbye to our friends and family. We are now looking forward to sharing this experience with you all in here and when we come back. The day before I leave. I've never been one to be worried about travelling somewhere different or new, but I have to admit I'm quite nervous. It's not because reading about all the diseases I need vaccination for, the natural disasters or little 4ft asian blokes stealing my passport and making me jump naked to get it back. It's that liberating idea of freedom that every kid our age wishes for. Some may say you get that with University life but I disagree. University to an extent is a new life under organised instruction and following norms and conditions that pratically all students get on with in a familiar cultural context.
