On Friday (9 October) Damian and I headed into London for a little look around. We went to Trafalga Square and I climbed up and had a hug with the big lion (see photo!!). We had a look at Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. We crossed the Thames for a walk along the river (and past some crazy street performers). That night we were back in London for dinner and a show (Wicked) with Julia and Eleanore, a friend I went to school with who has been living in London for a few years. It was great to catch up with Eleanore (and Julia again) and the show was fantastic. I really enjoyed the storyline and the performances were great too. I would definitely recommend this show and would happily see it again. When Damian and I got home from the show, Gavin and Teresa were playing RockBand so we joined in, until 2.50am when the neighbours were complaining about the noise. Oops!!!!
On Saturday, me and the boys went to Borough Markets and I seriously could have spent all day here. There was so much fresh food and yummy things to eat I was in heaven. We had a
chorizo burger that was so tasty, it was hard to stop at one. We ended up buying a bunch of food to take home for lunch - pork and garlic sausages (beautiful), ostrich sausages (I didn't try them), olives, steak (really good) and super tasty and gooey chocolate brownies for dessert. And if all of that food wasn't decadent enough, Gavin and Teresa took us to a Michelin Star restaurant in Notting Hill for dinner - The Ledbury. We all got dressed up and made our way on the tube to the restaurant. We had the tasting menu where we ended up having no less than 11 courses all with matching red and white wines and even port and sherry. Needless to say Teresa and I were feeling pretty 'happy' by the 3rd course so the rest of the night went along great. We got a copy of the menu printed for and some of the courses included quail egg, 2 cheese boards, a tomato salad, a lamb dish with about 4 different cuts of lamb including tongue which yes I did eat. All of the food was beautiful (the place was too fancy to take photos). We were the
last people left in the restaurant and made our way home at 1am - which I think was a pretty good effort. I had borrowed a pair or Teresa's heels for the night and with all of the walking we did to get to the restaurant I had the biggest blister on the bottom of my foot the next day. I don't think my feet have ever been that sore. At least all of the yummy drinks helped take a bit of the pain away!
After such a big night we had a big sleep in on Sunday morning. We packed our bags and caught the train to Gatwick airport and flew off to Dublin, Ireland.

Hey Jessica,
Looks like you're having a great time over there, it seems like you've been gone for ever!! By the way since you've been gone so long a few things have changed here in Aussie Land. Instead of saying "G'day" we say "Giddyup Cowboy" and instead of walking we all (that's everyone) use hoverboards to get around. So just a heads up for when you get back, you'll need a hoverboard for when you get off the plane to save embarrassment and you'll have to remember "Giddyup Cowboy" instead of "G'day".
Much Love, Lynn xoxo
