Arctic Monkeys not so secret gig at the Forum
Ok so I lied !! Kentish town just aint Japan (a bit more like Beirut with a couple of nice pubs) but just had to get down some photos from last nights Arctic Monkeys gig.

Most people will know that i like my music and must of seen a few bands in my time but last nights gig topped them all, by a mile !! For those of you that dont know the Arctic Monkeys are a group of oiks from Sheffield, who without any image or silly hats had the fastest selling debut album of all time and have been my favourite new band since i first heard them last year. A week before i first heard them i turned down a ticket to see them at the Soundhaus in Northampton ( a venue my band have played various times - thats how small its is ) but have tried and failed many times since to see them - and if i could have watched any band in the world last night it would have been the Arctic Monkeys.

The gig had been announced last minute and Carla admitted to feeling like Charlie with his golden ticket as
Cheers (notice it aint red, thank god)Cheers (notice it aint red, thank god)Cheers (notice it aint red, thank god)

Carla has a pre gig glass of White to celebrate her results!
we arrived early to collect our wrist bands ( a measure which got rid of all the touts for once ). With time to spare we wondered round Camden, ate for a quid each at a chinese stall ( a sign of things to come ) and even managed to find a internet cafe to see that Carlas exam results were out, then straight to the nearest boozer to celebrate her passing with 2 B's. We hit the venue at 8.30 to catch the so-so support (Klaxons) and then made our way to the front for the main event.

The Kentish town Forum is a great venue, smaller than i remembered and the smallest place the Monkeys will be playing for some time and although not exactly intimate it certainly has a great atmosphere and that added to the crowds exitement as the band hit the stage. I had had a few so couldnt even try and go through the set list, but basically they started with 'Bet you look good .....' and finished with 'A certain Romance' and my personal highlight was 'Fake tales of San Francisco ' with Scott the guitar Tech asked to play on stage
Now then Mardy Bum...Now then Mardy Bum...Now then Mardy Bum...

Our view of Alex & Co
(planned but nice touch)

With the chances of gig going being very slim over the next 10months it certainly was a great way to sign off, Cheers lads !!! and i Promise the next location will be Japan

Peace M&C
