Hello Well the time has finally come to say goodbye to good ole England and London but we have made the most of our final day here today. After having a much needed sleep in we headed to breakfast to fill up on the British favorites, bacon, sausage and eggs......yum......more lard!!! Would you believe after all of our rainy days in the UK the last one was absolutely beautiful with not a cloud in the sky, everyone walking around in summer clothes and making the most of the sunshine. We made our way to St James park and then onto Buckingham palace to take some photos then back through to Westminster and Big Ben. We are now sitting in The Albert, the quintissental British pub, of which there is may of course, enjoying a few more ... read more

July 30,2011 So we made! As luck would have it we checked in to our pre flight room at the Westin and were given an upgraded corner suite on the 11th floor. Of course….I thought it was all a good sign that this trip would go off without a hitch. I could sleep and breathe easy. However, we woke up on the morning of our flight to find out that our camera charger was broken. Shit…no pictures of the European adventure? Well of course that wouldn’t do…so Jared figured it out. 100 dollar cab ride to Best Buy head office and a time crunch and we were back in business with a new charger and multiple replacement batteries. Ok breathe….things are falling into place. Then, we arrived back at the hotel with about 20 minutes to ... read more

So the hotel was more annoying than first imagined - dodgy shower, noisy being next to the lift, rude staff, crap breakfast... but I asked for a room change and it was granted (so much better). Now that's off my chest, let me tell you about my one day in London. Having been in London two years ago and pretty much ticking off most tourist destinations, I was keen to have a slow travel day in London. I started out at the V&A, where I went on the introductory tour. Since I was last there, they've opened up a number of new permanent galleries so I wished I'd put aside more time for it. But as it's so big, it was good to do the tour to get a feel for the collections, particularly those I ... read more

Hi Everyone Students and Ms Shek and Mr Yu are safe and sound sleeping like babies in the hotel. I've been up since dawn, have been for a run (7km) and now having breakfast and it's still only 5am !! The flight was fine, long and tiring but manageable. We spent the first day exploring the area around our hotel. We started with a lovely full English breakfast and then headed to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The students did some work while sitting on the grass and enjoying the beautiful sunshine. However, rain clouds followed by a massive thunderstorm sent us running to the Royal Albert Hall for some coffee and some live classical music. Then we headed back to the hotel to check in but got caught in another storm so spent an hour ... read more
