Ok here goes. This is my first of many Blog entries I hope for my round the world trip. I thought I would do two blogs before I go to make sure that I can work this computer and secondly to prove to myself that I am a little bit computer literate. I have had my final course of injections these have included Rabies (to protect from Pretzel) Typhoid, Hep and Yellow fever my arms are a little bit shaky but still worth it as hopefully shouldn't catch anything whilst away. So, its finally here. I have been accepted for a Canadian work visa. This now means the whole trip is going to culminate in some time working in Canada after a very long holiday. So this also means the date that I have to hand my notice in is fast approaching. I am not looking forward to it at all, but once it has been done I know that my departure date will come round quicker than, well a departure date. So I have planned the route, I am now trying to work out what I am going to do when I am in each place. Its completely mind boggling as there is so muh info out there. After 5 months off I finally had to start work again. Getting up early was a b*tch, fortunately I start at 9 so it’s not too bad. My office is in Croydon, which is about an hour (door-to-door) from my flat. Travel costs just over £90 per month so isn’t cheap. Still if I worked in the centre of town which is closer, it would still cost the same due to travel in zone 1 being expensive. My company is Direct Line Insurance, our main field is car insurance, but we also do home, pet, travel, life and a few others. My role involves a range of tasks such as putting new content on the site, testing content changes and links, and competitive analysis of other insurance companies’ websites.
