PART I Felicia toiled and toiled and toiled. And on the 7th day Jason came from the sky and landed a mere 30 minutes late. We had the day off on Wednesday, so we went straight to Fulller's Brewery for a little tour and a pint or two. Fuller's is the oldest brewery still in existence in England (according to Fuller's Brewery). Our tour included our guide, Felicia and me, a London professional taking the day off for a tour, and a teacher with approximately 8 privileged high school students, most of whom are headed to Cambridge, and did not need to take notes. Fuller's still maintains 17th Century brewing equipment as well as modern brewing equipment. For instance, Fuller's stopped using this steele masher many years ago. Dan wants to give you a line by line itinery including planned dates and mode of transport (eg camel on Thursday) but I have drawn the boring card to save you all. This will be our Blog site for the next quite a long time. We are new to this so hopefully we will manage the technology and keep you entertained and informed as we go along. We are a little short on photos having just put our lives in boxes.... but while in London (strictly Windsor) we waved to the Queen - as you do. Honest. She's there. Philip is driving her to church. Now dossing in Chiswick with Kate and Neil who are very tolerant of homeless kiwis. First stop Scotland.... this blog will get more exciting, we hope!... read more

This is just a very quick entry to let you all know we are ok. For those of you who haven't heard, a mini tornado destroyed homes and left 6 people injured when it hit North London yesterday (7/12/06). Up to 150 houses were hit by winds reaching 130mph, although the strom lasted only 1 minute. Just after 11am, unsuspecting residents and passers-by were plunged into darkness so thick they thought they were trapped in smoke from a gas blast or fire. Seconds later, the darkness lifted to reveal the damage in which was caused by the freak weather. WE ARE OKAY. this had occurred on the opposite side to which we live and work.
