Today we took a train trip from London to Colchester. For relative novices to the London rail system we managed very well. After a change of trains we arrived at Liverpool Street station with plenty of time to spare. Being very wise it is cheaper to have a coffee to go and so we wandered the station concourse supping hot coffees. For some reason that seems to be a legacy of the IRA bombings of the past there are no rubbish bins in the London railway stations. So where do you put empty coffee cups? Find a table belonging to an outdoor cafe and quietly place empty cups for someone else to find a bin. The train trip to Colchester passes the 2012 Olympic Stadium and it is not long before you are speeding through the ... read more
Travel Blog - France #1 Bonjour! Actually for this entry is all about my predeparture plans and my quick visit to England. So just Hello for now I guess: Pre-departure I guess even before I left the US I had a pretty crazy little adventure. First I finished working at the fair. Yes people I still work at the MN State Fair 9 years after I started. This was my 7th year working there so I opened the booth… oooo hold on let me flex this finger that I used to turn the lock with the key I have to the booth.... yeah I know you felt that power right there. Naw it was pretty fun! I almost didn’t get sick of it. Almost. Afterwards I had some much needed prep time in the Twin Cities. ... read more
Hello Folk's, This is our first blog. So with one week left and an abundance of alcohol and inflatable animals as decoration our leaving party was ready. All our friends and family turned up to suitibly give us the "be carefull" and "come back in one piece" warnings whist also dancing like a pissed John Travolta to Saturday Night Fever, it was beautiful. It was a night of first's; with my 15 year old brother Tom's first drunken experience, suprisingly composed for his first piss up?! Also the first ever recorded dance off, in that village hall, between a 26 year old man (me) and a 6 year old girl (the camera busted during the previous dance off between us). Overall, as I think is pretty obvious in the pictures the party was a success thanks ... read more

Mummy also managed to get 4 tickets to the theatre for the evening which had been sold out! Wayne and I got to Colchester early and went to dinner at a delicious seafood Italian restaurant.
