Before Trip - Two weeks to go!

Hello everyone

And welcome to our inagural travel blog entry. First of all we would like to thank Mel and Jez for giving us the idea for a Travel Blog in the first place - we hope to make ours as entertaining as yours were!

There are less than two weeks left now before our 4 month adventure begins and things are begining to get very exciting and slightly nervy! Whilst worrying is has always been my forte', Fay, my calming influence, is also begining to worry about things like: Will the Humidity make me look like Diana Ross?! How will i cope without straighteners?! Will I be wearing the same clothes in all my photos? Whilst my worries are more aligned to - Do we have the right Visa's? and more importantly will i have enough legroom on the flight to Malaysia!?


This trip has been the culmination of 3 years planning and saving, and one things for sure we are going to make sure we have a good time!

We hope to update this regularly, but messages and updates on the progress of Norwich and West Ham are always welcome!

Hey!! Awww just read your pre-travel blog it made me giggle!! Hope you both have a wonderful time and I will be on here checking your progress and can't wait to hear about all the exciting things you get up to. Have fun both of you, Faye your backpack looks empty.. trust me you'll be stocking up on so many cheap clothes in Asia the backpack will be full to the brim when you get home. Jezza's backpack was always heavier than mine :) Email us when you get near vietnam and cambodia if you need any advice, some places there are mental. If you are going to stay in Siem Riep in Cambodia stay in the Prince Mekong Villa guesthouse, it is a little more expensive but the guy is great and trust worthy, he rents free push bikes that you can use to see Angkor with and also free laundry. When you go to see Angkor, make sure you do it as early in the morning as possible it gets too hot by 11am and you'll need some sort of shelter. Also always wear flipflops on the trains and carry your own loo roll (another awful story of mine). Lastly if you go to Hoi An in Vietnam, make sure you DO NOT get taken it by all the crazy people telling you they will make you clothes and you look lovely. Look around and get advice and recommendation of people you meet first, Jez and I spent $250 (u.s dollars) on clothes and some are just shit! Have fun, be safe and Faye they have loads and loads of hairdressers in Asia... you'll be fine! mez and jez xxx
