So, I am now pretty much employed. I had an interview with a recruitment agent yesterday & she offered me an all but certain job with a health insurance company here in the centre of Brighton doing Admin. Plus, the agent got my number & is going to call me when she goes to the pub later with her friend.
The pay is alright & the location is handy. I assume they´re will be a fair few young people working there so it should be alright. I´m not too fussed to be honest though. As long as I´m working. I haven´t had as much luck with a place yet.. not that Í´ve been all that committed to finding a place as yet.... hmmmm... Easy does it I say.
I´m having a brilliant time though. In my hostel room I´m sharing with a girl called Maribel (Spanish- very sweet- I love listening to her accent!), Victor (also Spanish- visiting his girlfriend) & Norman (German). They´re very interesting people. Maribel is here to work in cinema production & is looking for a place just like me (she says it´s been very hard to find a place :o( ). She´s been teaching me
Spanish- we´re going for dinner later tonight.
Victor only stayed one night- he is a very intelligent guy, we had great cultural & political conversations. Í feel so jealous that I can´t speak another language! Hé´s an artist for DC comics!
Norman (wait for this!) is blind & travelling by himself... but wait, incase you felt boring... he is also doing his degree in translation (translation is written guys! The wonders of computer software hey!). He speaks 3 languages.... &... he also plays the piano! Far out.
Then there´s Michael- he´s an all- American college footballer who is only allowed to be in the country till the 13th (here´s a tip... don´t be a smart arse to the immigration officer!). He & I spent the day together just exploring Brighton & Hove (yes, I should have been looking @ places but it is sooooo cold & windy & raining that I opted for the easier option). We´re going to the movies soon too.
Anyway, it feel great. At this stage, I still only plan on being here until about June before I take off to do El Camino.
Best be off.
xx
