I was going to just hang at home again on Sunday but my housemates headed to Studland (which is the next town over) and invited me. They had already left so I took the bus on my own and being my first time on the crappy public transportation system of Dorset, I got lost. I got off the bus just before it took the ferry over to Poole and ended up finding a trail that took me to the beach in 15 mins. Little did I know the beach I was embarking on was the Naturist aka NUDIST beach.
Studland is actually famous for their Naturist beach and I knew it was the last one on the strip of beaches and what I was looking for was the regular beach, the one where people kept thier bathing suits on. But the man I spoke to about which way to go just pointed and I followed.
Man oh man, I was just staring down at the sand the entire time. It would have been ok if the people were fit and hot, but no, they were all just old.. like senior citizens. It was wierd seeing families nude, and taking pics
of themselves. It was almost live FAMILY porn!!! I'm very uncomfortable with nude beaches, and this was my first time because I would never choose to go to one. Maybe I'm narrow minded, but I really don't think mothers and fathers need to expose themselves to thier children. Perhaps if you were living in a communal society where it would be seen as normal it would be ok. Then again, who am I to judge what is normal and abnormal.
As I was walking along the beach trying to get away to the next normal one and meet the rest of the gang, an English African bloke came beside me and started to chat me up. As I turned over I notice that he is NUDE! It was really bizzare, having a naked guy hit on me. He wanted to buy me a drink and hang out, to which I practically ran away.
Other than that, Studland was really cool. We walked around and it was really pretty. We also went to a pub for a meal which was really good. The bar food here is amazing, but I think that's cuz the pubs here are just like restaurants at home. Taking the open top buses were the best part, totally British!!

i didnt really notice cuz i refused to look up. most of them were young children.
Dude.... next time you find yourself in that situation just strip off yourself - I guarantee you'll feel less conspicuous!!
I know the area well. If you got off the bus just before the ferry the first beach you will find is the clothed beach. No problem there then. The naturist beach is a good 15 minute walk over the sand. Its the only way to get to it. It needs a determined person to get there. Are you sure you discovered this beach by accident? Are you sure that it wasn't just a little bit of curiosity that took you there? I don't know where you come from, (Im guessing it's the US), but we have a saying here, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" If you too had stripped off, you would have discovered a new you, one that is free and contented with the world. Naturists accept each other for what they are; it doesn't matter that someone is not exactly a size 8 model, we celebrate our bodies, not hide them away. Naturism is not a sexual activity; it is totally in vogue with family life. I can only say that it was a pity that a more enlightened friend did not accompany you on your trip to the beach. I guarantee that you would have learnt a lot about yourself and you would not be so quick to criticise something that you did not understand.
looking back at this now I would have to agree with you. This happened about 4 years ago when I was younger and just new to discovering. But after stripping down many times at the Korean saunas I do indeed feel enlightened by the experience and am always encouraging others to do the same. Of course an outdoor beach is a little different but I do think if I went back now my opinion would be different and I'd be more interested in trying it out myself.
