2 weddings & a drug’s bust! July & August 2010
Well on to the main event Caroline & Murray’s wedding! After lots of organising the week before the wedding Murray is taken into hospital with an abbess in his throat. It was either let the doctors cut into the side of his neck in which case he will miss the wedding or a rather horrible aesthetic free version that I will not go into. Bless him, he went for the later! It was touch and go & very little sleep as to whether he would make the wedding or not, but Murray had promised when he thought it was a cold that he would be there no matter what! I am proud to say he did make it!!
The night before was Chinese take away night with a few of the family and a couple of friends, we all received our orders for the following day and Charlotte was very pleased to be invited for hair and make up with the rest of the bridal party at early doors the next morning.
The next day was a wonderful blur which included an
early morning trip to the beauty salon for hair and make up, Champagne, Bagels & Muffins. The best shot of the morning was a photo of my Dad doing up Digory’s (My Step dad’s) Cravat with my Mum looking on! Classic.
We had a nice little catch up with all of the guests outside the church before the ceremony started an were please to see Murray looking well and munching on a Banana.
The location was stunning a beautiful church in Plymstock, just around the corner from where Murray and his bother Andy shared a flat. The day was clear and bright and perfect for the photos.
Charlotte was in charge of photo’s gathering, so with her big voice she got the task done pretty quickly, however we still over ran and we were soon shooed off so the next bride could arrive.
Off to venue two which was an intimate meal for close friends and family at the wonderful Tanner’s restaurant in Plymouth. The food was amazing, to die for! And the wine flowed! The speeches were touching and funny! Murray’s Mum even jumped up last minute
and ad lib’d a speech.
Nanny Williams went home in the wedding car after the meal as part of her 90th Birthday treat. And we all had a little break, in which we indulged in a cocktail over at The Treasury, before heading over to the Plymouth Gin Distillery.
The night was rocking, partly to do with the cocktails and partly to do with the amazing Singer/DJ Mackie. But needless to say we had a rocking night and a taxi home at the end of it!!
No rest for the wicked as we are up first thing in the morning and loaded into the car for the journey back to London. Liam has a St. John Ambulance camp to get to and Charlotte has another wedding to help prepare for. Charlotte was also tasked with the job of putting Caroline's wedding boquet on Grandad's grave in New Soutgate.
Charlotte goes to Yvonne’s flat (above our own) for a couple of days for a catch up and to help with the preparations, however Yvonne has it pretty much under control. So I spent the rest of the week at
the Kelly house.
However in the mean time we find out there has been a drug’s bust at our flat as the girl who rented it from us had a Turkish boyfriend who decided to sell coke & grow Weed! They busted down the front door and lifted all of the floor boards. What a mess, other than that they had wrecked the leather sofa & the carpet in the spare bedroom, also they had kept the place locked up with the place locked up with no ventilation, so there was mould everywhere. Then they managed to break the heating system! What a nightmare, but there was nothing we could do until we had got them out, which long story short, we did by the beginning of October, eventually.
On to the happy day Yvonne & Rowen looked wonderful and I met everyone down at the church it was lovely to catch up with all of there friends and family. Afterwards we made our way to ‘The Shires Golf Club’ where the reception was to be held, whilst Yvonne & Rowen went for a photo shoot down to the train station as they met
on a train.
The Shires was full for all of the happy couples friends and family, there were hundreds of people, I was on the Singles table so we managed to have a great time. The speeches were great and were finished off with Yvonne’s best friend Michelle, which was a hoot.
I was lucky enough to be asked to take a couple of shots of the couple on a mound at sunset, in my opinion they are the best of the day!!
