I thought that it might be a good idea to figure out how to use this site before i leave for my travels, after all, i don't want to be spending ages trying to figure it out if im paying by the minute in an internet cafe, so this is a trial run to see if i can create proper blog... i even went out and took some photos of the main touristy sites in Carlisle.

Hey, im a 22 year old guy from Carlisle - England, and im off travelling on October 1st to the USA, Fiji and Australia, first stop Boston.

Town centre
The tourist office, it's right in the town centre. (Seemed appropriate as this is a travel site)
The rear of the Cathedral
Founded in 1122. The front was covered in scaffolding, so i took this round the back.
The Castle
Built by William Rufus in 1092.
Dixon's chimney
Paris has the Eiffel Tower, New York has the Empire State building, Carlisle has a chimney - but not just any chimney, this was built in 1835, and was once part of a cotton factory.

Once part of the city walls (i think).

Gotta get a pint in before you go
Heya cuz Looks as though you have got the hang of the old travelblog so should be child’s play whilst you are away. Alls you gotta do now like you say is find a decent place to get your pics uploaded and some internet time, shouldn't be a problem though. We will have to get up the town or go to the rugby club for a few pints before you head off, gimme a shout so we can sort something out. That’s all for now folks :-)

Well, just a couple of days to go, are you excited?? :) The site looks very nice Andy and I love the pics of Carlisle, lucky you going towards the nice weather, here in Amsterdam the weather is getting shit! :) Your bro is as "LOCO " as always so no much to tell..
