Ok it's been over a year and it's time for us to head away again - this year it's sunny Barbados (or rainy Barbados at this time of year...). We haven't been since 2007 so it will interesting to see how it's changed. We are staying far up on the West Coast near Speightstown.

We will check in today to see if we can get seats even close to one another (with a bit of leg room if possible) - one minute after it opens I'll be online! I've also got the afternoon off to pack and tidy the house so that it doesn't look a complete mess for the people looking after it! - Update 10 minutes after check-in open we have 5 seats in a row - result....... though they do back onto the galley/toilets... oh well useful if its a bumpy ride!

The cat (dog) knows we are going she is starting to get a bit clingy - but she'll soon settle down. The jirds are being left at home this year so at least she will have some entertainment!

To ensure we are there for our flight tomorrow we've taken up Travelodges kind £15 a room offer and will be at Gatwick chilling out later this evening.

Our flight is mid-morning Friday so we'll get to Gatwick Airport suitably refreshed, drop the car and wave it goodbye then get through security as quickly as possible - and can sir explain why he has those Saudi Arabian visas? Then head to the lounge - courtesy of our credit card. This year we'll see who can build the biggest tower of diet cokes... me me!
