Sweden in the Current

The climate of Sweden is somewhat similar to Virginia because it has four seasons however it is slightly colder this is called a temperate climate. It borders the Baltic Sea, and the Gulf of Bothnia and forms the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula. However even though it has access to the sea it's economy mainly focuses on exporting timber rather than using the sea. On the note of the ocean and nature Sweden has been very committed to changing to renewable energy since the oil crisis of 1973, and used nuclear energy until the accident at Three Mile Island, which is a nuclear power plant near the Susquehana river. I think that I like Sweden because of their care for the environment; or rather that they accept that there is a depleting supply of oil and are trying to find alternatives. The current population of sweden is 9.2 million and the population density is very low at 52 people per square mile, and 7.2 million of the total population is Ethnic Swedish, making the rest of the people a minority, and the low population density makes it easy to regulate energy use and protect the environment. Sweden is taking great measures towards renewable energy but the fact of that matter is that no one else in the world is ready to try and go off gasoline as it makes them too much money. Gas is expensive and unfortunately that's because it's becoming more and more rare and thus making it more valuable. Now there are some people out there that think that oil is just not being distributed properly but I believe that there just isn't enough left and we need to start moving towards renewable energy or it will be too late.
