Last night my friend Cassie finally arrived. I took the drive down the mountain and picked her up. We had some local wine and turned in for the first real day of classes. After class Marc and I decided to explore the mountain (in the car!) Our intention was to find a lovely grassy knoll and spend the afternoon lying in the sun. Well, bothered by constant bees we drove a bit further and decided to take the cable car up to Berneuse which is 2048 metres high. There is actually a revolving restaurant up there with a little playground and spectacular views. One minute it was sunny and beautiful, the next I could barely see Marc the clouds were so thick. We had a drink in the revolving restaurant and headed back down for the 20 minute cable car ride.
So as you can see I am feeling better. I thanked the director of the program for getting me such a quick doctor's appointment with a creepy little french doctor, to which he replied that "guy" was the best he could do considering the doctor died last week. Hmmm, explains the large medical book now doesn't it? And the
fun never ends!
After dinner I came home for a quiet night on my terrace. As I looked out I was completely amazed by the most beautiful rainbow. Even as I sit now I can see it, sometimes the clouds make is smaller ... sometimes I can see one arc and not the other. The pictures simply cannot do this justice ... that I am sitting here looking at the window at such natural beauty. It honestly can start to make you question your existence on this tiny little place we call earth. And it makes me laugh at the silly problems I create for myself. I have been so fortunate, to have these opportunities to see the world and immerse myself in other cultures. Life is simply too precious to waste.
