10:05 p.m. (American Time) - Today was a good day. For the most part We got yelled at by Brinberg for being loud at night, that was the only bad thing. Michelle and I are watching "French Kiss" right now. I love this movie :)

Anyway, we had a group trip today. It was a trip to Locarno. It was gorgeous. I rode a train for the first time. The trip began this morning around 11 a.m. 4 students from UZZI (our school in Lugano) came and picked us up. They were sort of our chaperones/guides for the day. Their names were Regina (from Brazil), Nick (from Geneva), Patricia (from the German portion of Switzerland) and Ufok (from Turkey). They were all very nice.

In Locarno our group split. Half of us went ice skating. I was not part of that half. Pati and Ufok took those kids to do that. I heard it was fun. Regina and Nick however took us in a cable car up a mountain to a monastery. It was amazing! The building was yellow with a green roof. It had statues of images/scenes of the christ pre- and post crucifixion. All of this led

to the chapel. THe chapel inside was immaculately painted. The ceiling was red with gold cherubs surrounding it and beutiful paintings of more religious scenes lined the walls. There was also a wide collection of silver heart-shaped pendants in class boxes on the walls. Many were tarnished they were so old. Very unique. We then went down to the old city, which was very quaint. Strings of lights hand from building ot building across the street like in Lugano. Very pretty. THey had an interesting ice ring outside in the middle of town. There were clear balls for people to sit in and drink. They were very large and held bars in them. Then we went home. Not too exciting, but very pretty.
