After a long drive from Venice to Lucerne we went straight to a traditional Swiss village where we were picked up by horse and carriage and served home made products at a local farmhouse owned by Hans. We enjoyed Cheese, wine, pastries, bread, schnapps & coffee. Who would have thought that Switzerland would become one of our favourite places on our holiday. The next day we visited the monument of Switerland and the story touched everyone that there was not a dry eye in the group. Our tour guide is so passionate about every place we visit. We then went up by cable train & gondola to the top of the Stanzerhorn Mountain where we had views all the way to Germany. Carie and I stood on top of the mountain and sang the song from "The Sound of Music" we didn't care if people were looking at us strangely. The boys then tried to blow the big traditional horn you can see in the photos. It didn't really sound as it was supposed to. After that we went to a local restaurant for a swiss fondue and folk show then we took a cruise around Lake Lucerne. It was a

beautiful sunny day so we enjoyed sitting out on the top deck in the warm sunshine. Next we are off to PARIS

ON TOP OF THE WORLD
Hi Vic and John, So enjoying your blogs and open my email with much anticipation every day. Lucerne looks extremely beautiful and you both look so happy - my son told me it is his favourite place also. Looks like you are having good weather as we are here with Spring well on the way. I look forward to your photos of Paris - maybe I can steal some of them for my photo book!!!! At least we will know where yours are from unlike my own. Have a wonderful time in Paris and get me a good photo of the Eiffel Tower for my book. Love Bev
