I woke up feeling much more refreshed today! Michael had school early so I slept in and got up when he camehome for an early lunch! haha 😊 Was great! We had some swiss rosti for lunch - yum yum! And then after informing me how to get a bus ticket, Michael headed back to school and I went in the direction of the bus stop to begin exploring for the day!

Unfortunately when i got to the bus stop, to get a ticket you hadto have coins for the machine and I only had notes! So I planned to get a ticket on the bus. When the bus pulled up the front doors wouldnt open so i had to get on at the back and there was people backed up all the way to the front! When we got near to my stop I noticed at every stop there was men in red checking tickets so decided that all I could do was when I got off at my stop, pay them for ticket. Nope! Not so lucky!! When i got off and trie asking them they were like "too late!" and said I had to pay 100 swiss francs for not having a ticket!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it and the guy was so rude!! I really had no idea how anything worked and he said there was nothing else i could have done so had to pay him 100SF cash! That is like $150NZ!!! For an 8 min bus ride where i didnt even get a seat!!! Stpid swiss! SoI had a bit of a cry, got over it and decided to go shopping!!! 😊

Found and amazing winter coat in one of the shops which I have been looking for for a while so just whacked it on the credit card and felt better! Then I continued to explore Berne. i walked for hours, down by the river and through the Old Town, had tthe cheapest lunch i could find - $18NZ for a kiddies portion of caeser salad with no chicken even! and at about 5.30 Michael came and met me.

He took me down to the old bear pit which for good reason wass shut down by animal rights activists and a new bear pit has been built on the bank by the river with about 4 grizzly bears living there! Very cool!

You can walk right down by them! We then walkedtop to the top of this hill that overlooked the whole of Berne and sat and watched the sun set. It was gorgeous!

Cheese fondue for dinner!! Was so exciting! i have never ever had it and it was soooo yummy!! We sat around the stove as we didnt have the prooper fondue stuff and had cheese and bread for dinner! Amazing! I love this place!! Another relatively early night as we have a big day planned tomorrow!

Talk about bring back memories
Hey Rach, I saw bears in the old bear park and everywhere you went in Lucerne I went to, was the old hotel still at the top of the mount?
