Though Switzerland is a land-locked country, we sure could not tell that yesterday as we were camped right on the Bodensee in Konstanz, Germany, across from Kreuzlingen , Switzerland. We watched people wind surfing, fishing, and sailing in the lake as we walked along the shore. As planned, we took the day off from bike touring. Instead, we biked just five kms. into Konstanz where we spent several pleasant hours wandering the streets, purchasing a few small articles and a donerbox (a shaved meat with french fries, smothered in a cucumber sauce) for lunch. Then we biked back to the campground, took a nap, did some bike maintenance, and played cards. Just as we were ready to hit the sack, the thunder and lightening began. Hi all, Sunday 19th didn't turn out too bad after all, the thunder disappeared over the hills and the sun came out after lunch so we packed and tidied up ready to leave in the morning. Monday 20th Leaving lake Bled Harry said his goodbyes to the 2 German girls that had been following him around the camp site for 4 days, then we stopped off at a new supermarket for us, Eurospin (we've done that many!) to stock up then it was just a short drive to the border and the entrance to the Karawanken road tunnel that takes you through into Austria. Ich wett eu doch selbstverständlich no churz verzelle, wanich i mine letschte paar Wuche in Mexiko so tribe ha. (13h) im Hostel Casa ... read more
