The alarm in my mobile phone rang at 2.30 that morning. Woke up and prepared my favourite backpack and the other stuff to accompany me during this two days trip. My destination is Rheinfall or Rhine fall, one of largest waterfall in central Europe. I first hear about this place from my friend Sarrah, who will also joined with me in the trip. We both meet in front of my house and walking straight to the train station. Not too far, only need 15 minutes. As we arrived, we checked the departure time and platform through the big screen in the centre of the station. our train already on track and we jump on. it takes around three hours to get to Bregenz, one of the city in west part of Austria. A lot of empty seat on the train that morning, and we can easily find one compartment to sit. One compartment consist of six chairs, and if you are lucky you can have all seat just for you, like us this morning. Find the comfortable position and hope to continue sleeping. Two hours later we arrive in Feldkirch station and have to change to the other train.
Arrive
safely in Bregenz, we have to buy Euroregiotageskarte or Euroregio day ticket from the machine in order to able to continue our trip. This ticket can be used for one day (1 x 24 hour) either for bus and also local train to explore neighborhood area of Lake Constance (Bodensee/Konstanz). This lake is the natural border between Austria, Germany and Switzeland. The lake has 63 km long and 14 km widht, smaller than Toba Lake in North Sumatera (Indonesia) which is 100 km long and 30 km widht. Bregenz situated in the south east of the lake, while Rheinfall located in the north west. This is why we still need around 1,5 hours to get to Rheinfall. Take train from Bregenz to Schaffhausen, and then from Schaffhausen take the bus until Neuhaussen zentrum (city center). From here you can walked around 5 to 10 minutes down to the riverside.
Its amazing, we are really happy to hear the water from distance. As we walked closer, we can see the Rheinfall. Sarrah keeped saying that it was really amazing and she really lucky to get here, finally. A bit cloudy when we arrive, but this feeling cannot denied that we
are so happy to be here. Besides the waterfall, there are Schlossi Worth and Schloss (castle) Laufen, both are small castle in the Rhein riverside. Schossi Worth located in the east while Schloss laufen in the other direction. We need to take small boat to get to the other side of the river. Its cheap though, you have to pay 2 EURO and te trip only takes 5 minutes. As the cloud moving along, the sun arise. We have to buy the ticket if we want see the waterfall up close and personal. The ticket price of course worth it with the scenery. You can be really close, until the water can splashed to your face. Clear, fresh, huge. Feels like flash flood coming through you. But i really enjoy the feeling and the sound of the waterfall because if you are that close, then you can hear it pretty much clear. But if you are a bit affraid, you still can enjoy it from distance. One word for this waterfall: AMAZING. You should visit if you are in Switzerland or Austria someday.
