Its a red eye SAS flight to Stockholm on Saturday morning and I am just a wee bit nervous - with a record number of air disasters in the month I don't exactly want to get onto a plane. Hi Again Just wanted to give you all a quick summary of what I have been doing since I arrived in Malmo to visit Hanna... I arrived on the 22 of August in the evening, and have been drinking with Hanna ever since.. haha, kidding... Actually I have now seen quite a lot of Malmo and am leaving tomorrow for Oslo... ...I'm leaving for a year in China. Feels strangely good, probably since I can't grasp what it is I'm doing. China is to far away and a year is too much time to be able to imagine it and that means I don't know what to be nervous about. Hmm... Lets see if I can get this to work. So I'm leaving for the Dominican on Thursday morning. I'm taking the bus to Oslo at 03.05 in the morning, then from Oslo to London to Madrid where I'll be meeting up with the rest of the people who'll be studying Spanish. We'll be spending a night in Madrid and then it's off to Santo Domingo and from there to Cabarete by bus. So it'll be a long trip. The return to the beginning As you all know, when travelling the world it is easy to forget your own homeground and why you live there in the first place. I am not implying Stockholm to be the most beautiful place as such a place only exist in our own preferences. This past weekend was my last weekend in Sweden. Linn and I headed up to Uppsala Friday after work. Uppsala is a very unique university town... Having been established in 1477, the student life is steeped in tradition. Each student must be a member of a 'nation'... there is one for each region in Sweden. Most people join the nation of the region they are from but you don't have to. Linn is a member of Stockholm's nation. Every nation has a building and usually a club or pub. Well Royal Brunei is an excellent airline - great food and service! I didnt sleep much on the plane, despite taking a sleeping tablet. I was sitting next to a guy on the plane who was travelling to Brussells to see his girlfriend, so we helped each other find our way around the airports - especially in Heathrow - that place is a mad house! Immigration at Heathrow was a bit of a nightmare, I got questioned a fair bit and also was told "you're lucky the troubles are over" for Armagh (the county in Northern Ireland I am staying in). G'day, We drove back down to Linköping today, so that means summer is coming to an end, the weather has been really shitty, so it already seems like it's over, but it can change real fast and could be 30 deg next week, ya never know here!
