What are Saturdays for, during the day a little shopping is on the list of things to do and then at night its time to drink a little (or a little too much) and hit the town.
Sara took me for a nice little tour around town, which only takes approximately 15mins, being quite a small town. We then came back to the appartment and prepared some food and then started preparing for a night out in town. Lots of drinks, lots of loud music and plenty of laughs while trying to ride those damn bikes into town again. The highheels plus -10degrees made things a little more difficult than last night, but with a bit of patience and alot of determination i got there with no broken bones, only one near collision and my hair still looking ok!
Before town we had a few drinks at Sara's friends place, then all went to town together. Lots of long lines with people waiting in the freezing temperature and later it started snowing, I thought it was crazy standing out in such cold weather, but this is just what needs to be done in Sweden. I dont think I will ever complain about lines in Melbourne again, as it is never that cold at home.
It wasnt actually long before we got in, helps knowing a friend of a friend.....we partied away in an old cinema which has been converted into a nightclub. I am not sure about all the steps in the place, especially after consuming a little bit of alcohol....would have been ok for carrying popcorn to watch a movie but not really appropriate for hundreds of drunken swedes and a little Aussie girl!!! But once again I live to tell the story, even after a half hour bike ride home which took alot longer due to all the snow falling & Sara singing the whole way while trying to ride her bike while extremely intoxicated. Fingers, toes, ears, face and body frozen we stumbled into bed and defrosted!!!
Only a few more days in Halmstad and then I travel further south to visit Carin in Copenhagen, I am sure a few more tales of drunkeness will be on the cards, so once again stay tuned, otherwise I will be seeing all of you in Oz in just over a fortnight!!!
