ArCtIc Adventurez completed!
Crossed the polecircle, walked up to the basecamp of Kebnekaise (Sweden s highest peak) and higher up to some glacierlakes... got al wet and soaked just before a freezing night in the arctic, and was happy to wake up still alive in the morning...! Welcomed the first snow on a beautiful morning: magical snowlandscape in the middle of summer...
After exploring Lapplands capital Kiruna, the biggest mining town of europe, we drove along Tornetrask lake to Abisko... The nights got colder and the snowline was getting lower every day... Crossing into Norway along the old Iron Ore route towards Narvik, one of the major strategic seaports in WWII... magical nordic landscapes, imagining the vikings lively in that suurounding... only strong people could ever have lived in this rough surrounding.
Snowcapped glacier mountains dropping straight into the ocean, waterfalls with glacierwater tumbling straight down into the ocean...
Drove down the Ofoten coast and threehundred kilometers south back trough the mountains into sweden... after rocky harsh norway again the pines and lakes from sweden... the changing landscapes are so destinct. I can imagine the trolls to have lived in norway and the elfs in Sweden!
A wonderfull but demanding journey, the weather in the arctic is really changing extreme and you have to be prepared to everything.
They have a beautiful 'all-mansright' in scandinavia, allowing you access to any land as long as you respect it, so we were camping in the wild all the time...
beautiful, but tough, and the only payable way of exploring this beautiful region.
