The building you can see out the porthole is Stockholm City Hall where the Nobel prize ceremnoy is held.

I went for a walk after I got there and this is one of the first buildings I saw. The name of it made me appreciate why Matt found it so difficult to spell our street name. Even though Ngaoho is shorter and easier to remember, the words are just so different.

A view of the amusement park on Djurgarden from my fave island Kastellholmen.

This is the castle that gives the island its name. It is pretty much the only thing on the tiny island that noone ever comes to apart from me. If Sweden was as warm as it was when I was there all year then this castle is where I would want to live.

Bear cub at Skansen, the open air museum.

This is a storehouse from 14th century Norway. The carving around the doorway just reminded me a little of Maori design that interested me.

Crazy animal thing

I can't remember what this is, it is either a moose or a reindeer. I am crap. It smelt bad whatever it was.

Drottningholm Slott

Slott means palace. This is the royal residence. View from the steamboat. It is an hour steamboat down inland into the fjord from Stockholm.

Palace gardens

View of the gardens from the first floor of the palace. The entrance hall to the palace was filled with statues of Roman emperors which I recognised. I was very proud of myself.

Reeds and water

I went for in walk in the palace forest and could see glimpses of water everywhere that I wanted to reach. This was my first attempt, through the reeds. But I got a bit wet as I don't think there was any ground under me at this point.

Still on my search to get to the water I ended up in another forest which I proceeded to get lost in. I was heartened by the occasional view of water like this.

Finally I came out of the forest here. There was a road on the other side of this that was only an hour and half walk back to the palace.

Promo for Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. How they thought this looked like Harry? Dumbledore? I will never know.

The palace in the background is the one in the middle of Stockholm that is used for official engagements and things.
