the island on the island
on our way from visby to Faro on a smaller island..delayed 1 hour for our first flat tire.We are on a lovely island called Gotland, it is situated off the coast of Sweden. We have been living in a town called Visby which most of it is surrounded by an ancient stone wall and within it it has some building ruins. it is beautiful and we have had some wonderful weather. we arrived here on Saturday 1st august at 3am in the morning. we were very tired after our big bike trip from Stockholm to Nynäshamn where we boarded the ferry to here. we slept through the whole 3 to 4 hour journey. When we arrived we found out that there was going to be a huge Medieval Festival week happening in the town starting on Sunday. We got soooo excited. We found a nice little forest to ourselves with a nice flat spot just 5kms from the city centre. We experienced 3 days of the awesome festival. we checked out the medieval market and saw lots of awesome things we wanted to buy and yummy food we wanted to taste. we resisted for a little while then gave in to the food. we tried lots of sweet food like suger almonds, crêpes and wraps with sugar. we
heard old music played buy oldern styled instruments. we heard many tales of the past (but all in Swedish) there were alot of jesters doing some acrobatic stunts and joking around (again mostly in swedish) and on monday we saw a tournement with men on horses jousting and competing, men fighting with swords and doing archery (l even got to do a little myself). it was an awesome time had but also a very expensive time had. but we saved with free camping and on bikes too. when we had enough we went up north east to an even smaller island to see some rock formations. it was bout 70kms away but because it was so flat it only took 4 hours. but we got very burnt. as you will see in the pictures when l put them up. we are now deciding what to do next, more sweden or go to amsterdam before heading back to germany. hope all is well. more later when next find a computer....bye for now!!!

excited to hear
It is lovely to hear from you, we are very excited. Your mom's here with us for a short time before she goes home. Ben's now back in hospital - in a private hospital called the Hills Provate, getting better medical attention. His foot is infected badly, and he will have more surgery on Monday. This is mum - it's so so good to hear from you sweetheart, please keep communicating - when I haven't heard from you for a few days I start to to fret. But I know you're well. Love to Andre and to you, from all of us. You are the talk of the town.
