We had quite a rain storm last night and it cooled thing off quite a bit, this AM it was about 49 F. Our trip from Segovia to Madrid was
To be honest, each day is a bit of a challenge, new roads, new campgrounds, new stores, new town/city, and often ....a new language---my brain is on overdrive! After settling into "Camping Osuna" in Madrid, we began a walk of about one kilometer, to the metro, we figured out the system and were soon on our way to Madrid! Learning to deal with the metro is a wonderful way to get from place to place in many cities.
One more complaint, telephones! This is a bit of headache. We thought from research and reading---purchase a European phone....and get a SIM card in each country....easy.... Not so!! Each SIM card requires a passport, different PIN numbers, different phone number etc, etc.... it is like buying a car in the US with a foreign speaking salesman. Then when the minutes get low, a foreign voice speaks to you on the phone and we have no clue. The store that recharges is not the phone store but something like an
audio store. Bob had to walk between 3 stores and explain what he needed.
However, given all the challenges---I think we are doing GREAT!!! We even found our way home. metro and walking.... for a meal of shrimp, pasta and salad!! Life is good! Most of our meals are at home. It is fun buying the local specialties and experimenting. We eat out a few times a week depending on where we are.
