San Fermin opening ceremony - Pamplonawe were all down there amoungst it, up to our ankles in smashed glass, getting surged around this little square with about 15,000 other people waiting for the clock to strike 12, and the party to begi
... [more]I don't really have a clue to begin with this entry... the past couple of weeks has been all of a bit of a blur for me. Too much sangria, not enough sleep, thousands of people, party party party, bulls on the rampage, bad camp food, stupid drunk foreigners, rich Spanish culture, boogie street, fireworks, happy faces, Porron, poolside drinking, cobled streets, adredaline, these are a just a few of the things that my photos have helped me remember about what I was so lucky to have been a part of over the last 10 days or so.
We turned up at Estella camp ground on the 30th of June, to meet the crew and have a few quiet ones, and from then untill we left on the 10th of July the party pretty much ran full time. It didn't matter if you were at the campground, down by the pool, in Pamplona or on a bus to or from Pamplona, you were amoungst it. We were 6 of 30 crew members with PP travel, who had to set up tents and serve breakfast to 500 hundred odd campers from NZ, Aussie, England and a few other places, and basically
had to lead the charge on the party front, to make sure everyone was having an awesome time. Our crew was so much fun, and one of the best nights I had was when all the crew went out together in Pamlona for a huge one at the fair, on Boogie St and wound up in some park under a huge fireworks display...
Other highlights were definately running with the bulls(one of the coolest adredaline buzzes I've had for a long time), being in the middle of the biggest croud crush ever for the San Fermin festval opening ceremony on the 6th of July, wacking a bull on the ass with a newspaper in the bull ring, relaxing by the pool back at camp, meeting hundreds of new people.. the list goes on and on but you're probably not going to reading this anyway so I'll just leave it at the at that and show you some photos. I will however highly reccomend that if it does interest you in the slightest, that you make the effort and be a part of it one year because you will definately not be let down and i totally feel like I
can't express even half of what I really feel, and felt, through my photos and words so let that be some sort of guide for you as to how amazing it really is. I hope you like the photos, russ.
