Museo de Jamón
Saw this on tv in the States! I feel like today has spanned the course of 2 days. It's amazing how much easier handling jet lag is this time around. I can still stay up too late (138am) & sleep too late but it was a great day!
Started out on a 2 hour walking tour. Love them because it helps me get my bearings and understand the important places to go in a short period of time. After all, we aren't here long. It turned into a 9 hour walking, eating & boating tour. Katie & I walked around for the rest of the day w/ new friends from the walking tour. We walked across the city to the park & rented boats! Afterward we walked clear across to the other end of the city only to find that they stopped admitting guests to the Palace only a couple mins before we arrived!
10 fun things I can remember in no particular order
1 in one of the stores, Katie & I were complimented on our Spanish! Made us feel great!
2 churros con chocolate
3 almuerzo (lunch) for 10 euros w/ the walking tour minus our guide
4 stores open late so we could shop late!
Museo de Jamón
Jamón Iberico de Bellota- pigs fed special diet. Hopefully taste tomorrow! 5 boating!
6 watching street performers dance. They were really good!
7 exploring the city w/ new friends!
8 sangría!
9 Katie and I appear to have the room to ourselves tonight!
10 visiting Museo de jamón
10b Tresor!!
I enjoyed the history on our tour. The Christian stone influence, in light of the inquisition, buildings couldn't be more gorgeous than the Church. Marks from Spain's civil war, you showed everyone you were a Christian by eating ham. Ham/pork is huge here.
Hasta luego!
