So I know... my days are off on here. Oh well. I will figure it out later. SO anyways. On the 18th I went to the famous museum here: El Prado. It was cool. I got to see some stuff by El Greco, Goya and others. Obviously I donīt remember too much. It was neat to look at all the paintings. They did have an exhibit: Entre Dios y Hombres...there were many sculptures. Those always fascinate me because of all the details. Lets see what else...not much there it was just really big. Next I went to the garden next door. I can see how it would be gorgeous with the flowers blooming.
The final stop was this Museum de Reina Sofia. This had a lot of modern stuff. Some I wonder how it is art...you know what I am talking about. My preschoolers could have done it. SO anyways. I did see Picasso...let me tell you-Im not such a fan. I wish I was but I just couldnīt get into it. Salvador Dali on the other hand...heīs the man. I really liked his stuff.
After that I walked home... each way was about half an hour. Let me tell you...when there is a destination in mind and things to see...The time goes way faster...for me anyhow.
I have been observing a lot about Madrid. I like that its an old city...the buildings are old, there is so much history but it is changing everyday. Itīs also very clean. There are tons of people just sweeping and cleaning the sidewalks...there are a lot of smokers so lots of butts to clean up. Also, there are police officers everywhere... Mom, you can tell that to Grandma. On horses, motorcycles, foot and car. Itīs really amazing.
At night I wandered on the main drags everywhere. I must have walked for two hours. It was so much fun. There are Christmas lights up and each barrio has its own design, etc.

Sounds like you are seeing ALOT of artsy/fartsy stuff. I know "I" would like the Picasso ...(I have seen his collection in Chicago many years ago). I will tell granny - about the cops! ; )
Went home early yesterday (Friday) - due to the AWFUL snow. My friend Toni has a truck so she plowed through the snow and dropped me off in the yard at noon. Also gave dad her lunch - a walleye plate - which he LOVED. Spent the afternoon making two double batches of Chex mix ...which dad said was the BEST. Then about 3 - he went out to move snow - and I did chores. Linda has NOT had that calf yet ...! Then we got in the house about 4:15 - and he fell asleep. TODAY we did chores ...and then he left for the gym and a dump run. BUT the forecast isn't good - so PLEASE enjoy the weather! He moved MORE snow - its snowing right now - and another storm is heading this way - and then frigid temps - then ANOTHER storm on Monday!
Good girl for doing ALOT of walking. And I betcha the lights are so pretty too. Take care .. love ya ...
Hey daughter - don't know if you got the "other" comment. Told Grandma you are save and sound ...she loved the comment about the cops ...that made her feel a LOT better! She says that she IS worried about you! Grandma has alot on her mind (besides the weather) ... she wants to know if you are eating ok - what are you eating?? I had told her some of the things you are doing and she is enjoying my "stories" about you! AND I told her that IF she has any questions or concerns to let me know and I will ask you - hopefully I can contact you - and I think I will print out some of these pages for her to read.
Weather is horrible - so enjoy the nice weather - dad has done the driveway several times. BIG storm and COLD heading our way - good thing I don't have to go to work til way after the new year! ... Linda has NOT had her calf yet ...hope this finds you well. Tomorrow is the Gilsdorf Christmas party - have to laugh however - Shelly and Bubba are hosting it - and I have contacted her several times to let me know what to bring - and she has yet to say anything - either by phone or email .. but that is SHELLY .. Corey said he had to drive in this crappy weather ... wasn't nice but he made it safe and sound. He is heading to Milwaukee for an "ugly Christmas Sweater Party." I found an old sweater from uncle Roland - and it looks GOOD on him .. he said he was NOT wearing that sweater to Phil Manz on Christmas Day!
Love ya .. MOM
