My birthday has come and go. 25 is not as scary as I thought. In fact, I have completely embraced and it had a wonderful memory to carry with me for the next 25 years. The morning of my birthday I walked outside onto the busy Madrid street, took a deep breath and smiled. I was overcome with such emotion. The best present I could give myself was this exact moment. The sun was already heating my face and Spainsh can be heard from those walking past me. I’m in Madrid!!!
My birthday day was very sweet and I felt very loved by my new Madrid family. Laini surprised me with a Filipina cake from a Filipina store a few blocks from the house. I was soo excited to have found the store and she was soo thoughtful to bring a little bit of home to me. Sadie gave me a wonderful bottle of exclusive Spanish red wine…. Mike sent me beautiful flowers from the states. It was actually quite funny, because I thought that Alejandro sent me flowers, but he was as surprised as I was…hahaha… Thanks so much Michael!! Amy was present for the blowing out of
the candles via phone….my parents called and wished me a happy birthday. I couldn’t have asked for anything more…. And to top it off….Alejandro gave me two adorable turtles… I will introduce you to my babies in the next blog..
On the 9th, we had a big international party at the APT. We sent up lights, everyone bought their own drinks….. the music was a combination of Spanish and American and everyone had a fabulous time. After we went to dance a bit more in a club that was a bit “pija” or poshy….. I think I fit right in…;) Called the little bottle.. La botellita.... all the drinks were mini bar size shots of alcohol.... quite cute......
Thank you to everyone who made my 25th a fun and memorable year. I am so excited for the next 25 years of strong friendships and adventures…. Again..this is just the beginning… everyday there is something new to experience. BESOS
For the longest time, we couldnt get the internet on in the APT. But this morning after a long struggle with the previous tenants bills, we have succeeded!!!!! I have a few blogs that are much too overdue..... sorry
for the delay...what do you do...;)
It's my birthdayI got to wear this little sign all over the house that day.......
